S. Black, better known as Enyergon, (en’-er-jon) is slowly becoming the future of underground Hip Hop.Born and raised in the East New York section of Brooklyn, New York in the housing projects known as Louis H. Pinkhouses, Enyergon began writing original songs with his friends at the age of 12.In 1994, Enyergon began taking his talent more serious when he formed the group N.A.R.C.,(New Age Ruthless Criminals), with childhood friends. Working with a producer known as DJ Esteem who worked with the likes of King Just, Shaolin Soldiers and other up and coming artist breaking out of Staten Island after the Wu-tang Clan.Enyergon entered a rap contest at “The Wave” in Staten Island hosted by legendary R&B singer of The Force Mds Mercury(R.I.P.). Although he didn’t win, he felt comfortable on stage in front of hundreds of people and knew from that moment on he must continue to work hard at his craft. In 1999, Enyergon joined the United Stated Marine Corps and relocated to San Diego, California. There he met three more New York emcees that he bonded with. After a performance on January 19, 2001 at the Area 51 enlisted club aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Enyergon was open to forming a group. He featured two of the three emcees in his set and the crowd gave an overwhelming response. Hence, years later “The Streetstalkaz” was subsequently formed. From 2003-2006, The Streetstalkaz recorded and released a few underground promotional compact disc with street smashes like “Street Hop” and the inspiring “Respect the Troops” track which exposed the hardships of being in the military during a time of war.In October 2006, The Streetstalkaz released their ep entitled “The Year of the Lyricist” which had modest sales but still did not discourage Enyergon. During his tenure in the group, Enyergon performed at numerous venues such as the Belly Up of Solana Beach, California and the 100.3 fm The Beat Rap the Vote event at Compton Community College to name a few.In 2007, Enyergon decided it was time to pursue his career as a solo artist. Enyergon is gaining a strong buzz with his promotional cd. “Settle Down” has been featured on mixtapes by DJ Espee and DJ Green Latern. His controversial song, “Military Chicks” has also been widely talked about amongst military members from America to Japan.Enyergon is set to release his debut album, “Alternate Underverse” on May 15, 2009. However, he refuses to let his underground Hip Hop heads wait so long to hear a release from him. So look out for the mixtape prequel to the album "Power Surge" dropping January 2009. Available for download on datpiff.com and imeem.com and other sites as well. Enyergon considers himself a versatile emcee as well as an entertainer. When asked how does he plan to separate himself in a saturated market, he replied, “Marketing is paramount. Good music sells itself, but the people have to know where to get it. In this digital age, independent artist have an even playing field with major label artist. I’m confident in the product I’m putting out there. As far as standing out in a saturated market, its like I say in one of my songs, everybody raps but everybody a’int special”. After listening to Enyergon’s music, I can say with conviction.......get ready for something special.
