is generally better on dvd. i do enjoy: anything written by aaron sorkin. anything written by bruce eric kaplan. most things created by joss whedon. stuff tim minear's done.
i like something that surprises me, pulls me in, arrests me. i like something that inspires me, enchants me, keeps my eyes roped to its pages all evening and then keeps me up all night thinking, writing, singing, celebrating the unexpected and the dirty and the sublime. straightforward narrative tends to bore me. i need something to hold my attention more commandingly than the world outside. i need books that understand what they're competing with. i like anne carson and kathy acker and barry gifford and antonin artaud. i like the situationists and the revolution of language (and the language of revolution) but i have a soft spot for boris vian and for andre breton's "nadja".
they're all dead.
