BIO
Tape Deck Mountain is the solo project of long time San Diego band whore Travis Trevisan. After serving time playing lead guitar in various bands (Lost Companions International, First Wave Hello, Long Live Logos, Redstone Arsenal, Holiday Minor). Travis grew tired of failed band dynamics and decided to start writing his own songs under the name Tape Deck Mountain...after all, you can't break-up with yourself...can you?Soon after creating the obligatory myspace page with a couple demo songs, Tape Deck Mountain caught the ear of fellow San Diego band whore and recording engineer Keith Milgaten (Vision of a Dying World, Jamuel Saxon, Charles Musket). The 2 began work on Tape Deck's debut EP entitled Sparks. Recorded in their Golden Hill apartments 6 blocks apart, Sparks is the first will and testament of the texture & soul of Tape Deck Mountain, not falling to far from the tree of sonic youth, my bloody valentine, and the microphones. Not too soon after finishing the Sparks EP, Travis on search for a drummer met Paul Remund, who was interested in playing drums but also was looking for a guitar player for his own project (ladybeard). The two signed an exclusive agreement to work on each others projects, after consulting with their lawyers. Paul eventually began singing background vocals and playing keyboard along side the drums transforming the Tape Deck Mountain live show from certain lameness to epic proportions. This brings us to the summer of 08' as Tape Deck Mountain begins to climb into real time performances at dive bars and basements. Distributing free downloads of Sparks and preparing it's physical release on cassette. Please be careful climbing the mountain.
