HI EVERYBODY
About me? That’s a tough one. I’m an outgoing opinionated person, sometimes bordering on the obnoxious extremes of both, but in the right situations… when we first meet I’ll be shy and uncomfortable. In school, for the first two weeks you’ll never hear me speak, you’ll mistake me for the shy type, but once I know the people and the expectations, I’ll push them to the limits. I suppose in that sense I’m like a sleeper agent for extroversion. This opening shyness however only is true if I think you’re someone who’s respect I may eventually desire or if I believe others I care for might be reflected on poorly. If I doubt I’ll see you again, I’ll be just as outgoing, not rude mind you, just larger than life…I only attended one year of college at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona, long enough to earn my pilot’s license, but my so-far short lived career in Academia does not mean I’m not a Scholar, just that I am not an academic. I love to learn, I am a self-taught political science expert and general go-to person regarding the Constitution of the United States, I may not no case-law but I know the meanings of every word or phrase and its original meaning, the meaning that should still apply. Like Antonin Scalia, I am not a “Strict Constructionist†I’m an “Originalistâ€
While I have many passions, political science, history, physics, aeronautics, law, government, etc, I have one love. That is my beloved, my other half. My lady, who desires not to be named herein, let’s call her Elizabeth, is largely responsible for all I have become and all I could be. She is one in a billion. She is not only beautiful, but she’s a loving and caring, kind, big hearted hottie with the mind with whom mine pales by comparison. I will love her forever and it is my fond hope that I can one day make her my wife.
Second to her is my biggest passion, for nothing else can be my love, freedom. I am a philosopher of sorts. I spend hours sometimes just thinking about the laws of nature as it relates to government. I live in a political classification that is my own. I am a conservative in a more traditional sense of the political ideology, a liberal in Jefferson’s day, a Conservative in Reagan’s, and a Paleo-Con in Bush’s, but more than simply that, I am a minarchist. I believe that, to borrow a line or two, “All men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights,… that, to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed†And that there is only one role of government, to prevent people from breaking my leg and picking my pocket, to punish those who do, and to do so without doing it themselves or violating my personal and property rights. I believe there is a limited role for the federal government to play. The Federal Government is there to be the government as if the states as a whole were individual people, not to govern the persons themselves. And I believe that the states have the same limited responsibilities as the federal government.
Just because you have the right to something does not mean it’s the government’s job to give it to you. I am a believer that we should do what we can to protect the environment so it’s still the way we remember it for our children; that we all suffer while the least of us suffers unfairly, that no one should go hungry or sick. However, I also believe that those are things the government should not enforce, that forced charity is not charity. Those who are unwilling to work for what they need to not suffer unjustly, that sometimes the best solution does not lie in laying down for your enemy, peace is not something for which we should surrender our values and sometimes there are some things worth fighting, dying and yes, killing for.
While I use harsh words, it should also be noted that I am a hopeless romantic. If I may borrow a line from “Moulin Rouge,†I believe in Truth, Beauty, Freedom and Love, above all things I believe in Love…
And now, some quotes from others I hope may give some deeper insight into my soul, a deep thought for yourself, or simply a laugh:"The decline of literature indicates the decline of a nation" Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
"What government is the best? That which teaches us to govern ourselves." Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe"War does not determine who is right - only who is left." Bertrand Russell"Patriots always talk of dying for their country, never of killing" Bertrand RussellAny coward can sit in his home and criticize a pilot for flying into a mountain in a fog. But I would rather, by far, die on a mountainside than in bed. What kind of man would live where there is no daring? And is life so dear that we should blame men for dying in adventure? Is there a better way to die? Charles Augustus Lindbergh, Jr."I apprehend no danger to our country from a foreign foe... Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from another quarter. From the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence, I must confess that I do apprehend some danger. " Daniel Webster"Never tell people how to do things.Tell them what to do and they will surprise you with their ingenuity." General George S. Patton Jr."It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived." General George S. Patton Jr."One of the most frequently noted characteristics of great men who have remained great is loyalty to their subordinates." General George S. Patton Jr.
"Evil can only triumph when good men do nothing" Edmund Burke"There is no safety for honest men except by believing all possible evil from evil men" Edmund Burke"To limit the press is to insult a nation; to prohibit reading of certain books is to declare the inhabitants to be either fools or slaves." Claude Adrien Helvetius"liberty depends on the freedom of the press and that cannot be limited without being lost." Thomas Jefferson
"I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it." Thomas Jefferson
"Bad government results from too much government" Thomas Jefferson"Those who fail to learn from the past are doomed to repeat it" George Santayana"We can't all be heroes because someone has to sit on the curb and clap as they go by." Will Rogers"Speak your mind, even if your voice shakes." Unknown"Some people say that I must be a horrible person, but that's not true. I have the heart of a young boy...in a jar on my desk." Stephen King
Paleo-Conservative
A paleo-conservative believes in moderate government intervention on personal matters and little to moderate government intervention on economic matters. They support capitalism as an economic system and therefore are opposed to what they consider to be a welfare state. They believe in property rights or homestead. Some paleo-conservatives tend to have an "isolationist" bent to them, and therefore are more likely to be opposed to foreign interventions then most rightists. Paleo-conservatives are reminiscent of the "old right" of the 30's, 40's and 50's. Strong Paleo-Conservatives border on Libertarianism.
