About Me

Jackson Jones is a three-piece band from Tuscaloosa, AL consisting of Michael Stovall, 21, David Ray, 20, and Paul Oliver, 22. The band began in January 2004 with Michael and David, who started writing songs on a regular basis. By the summer of 2004, they went to Nashville to record an acoustic demo. In the fall, they met with drummer Paul Oliver at the University of Alabama, who made a verbal commitment to join the band when his prior obligations were completed. By Christmas, Michael and David had finished a second demo for a total of 13 songs and were ready to begin playing live shows.In January 2005, Paul officially joined and the band began rehearsing for live shows. The band has earned a reputation as one of the top local acts in Tuscaloosa in under a year, not only for their stage show but also for their original music. Playing not only bars, but also festivals such as the Tuscaloosa Crawfish Festival and local benefits, Jackson Jones continues to spread their name and music. In June 2005, they recorded their first demo as a band with Eric Waters of Dreamcatchers Studio in Birmingham, AL, and will soon enter the studio to record new material.With the full demo nearing completion and a motivating drive to spread their music to larger audiences, Jackson Jones has begun seeking record labels to further their success. Aspiring to begin a tour, they have taken it upon themselves to meet with venues and promoters who respect and share a passion for original music.
