I AM A CONSCIOUS SOUL SISTA: Obama ! Obama 4 President. My name is Olabummi Mawusi, I'm on a quest to see as much of Africa I can. I have a desire to find my Original Roots. Nigeria was my first trip and I loved it, it was diffrent but it was an experience. Everywhere I went I seen people who looked like someone I know in the states. All the statues where of Black people. It took minute for people to warm up me because they just don't see many African Americans who visit. They were very respectful and considerate. African Americans I've talked to seem have the mind set Africans hate or dislike us its not true it's an unfair stigma. From what I gathered they are puzzeld to why we as African American don't take the opportunity to capitalize on the education system we have in the Americas. If given the resorces every African American should try to visit some part of the motherland. Now getting back to me.I was given my first name Mawusi in the 70's from a dear friend whos no longer on this earth it derives from the "EWE Tribe of Ghana and it means: In The Hands Of God. My second name is: Olabummi was given to me from my family in Nigeria, and its from the Yoruba tribe and it has two meanings: Depending how you spell it but it's pronounced the same way. 1. Honor Has Rewarded Me 2.The Highest Gift Is Mine. I'm family orintated and I'm Pro Black, I believe in us African Americans, we have to hold on to the love of Ancestor & Tradtions Southern & African or we'll lose it forever. People you can't believe everything in the media they never have positive coverage of us its major negative.*Fact* is they depict us as animals don't belive the hype we are the most forgiving of all people. Buy do belive they are building prison faster than housing (Just-us) mordern day Slave Plantations, Billions of dollars for your incarceration. Wake up my people remember you come from the beginning of civilization. Yes You ! You of the Omega. I know sometimes it looks bleek but we as a people have to up hold each other up. "Each One Teach One". My young people respect our elders please when you see an elder person is your passing on the street, Don't wait for them to say something, you make the first greet. Thats ole skool love!!! We have that, thats part of our heritage use it. And greet your people when your out and about brothers & sistas be vocal. I for the life of me don't know where this Mugging sh*t come from I have no idea! But its got to go. Just try next time you think someone is mugging you" greet with respect take that negative entity away. Its just too damm easy to turn it around.Seems to me its not enough of us taking the initiative. And by all means: Buy Black!Buying black your helping our familys support our children. Its just take something as small as that to start positive change. Make your dollars count for your people.Other races are doing it why cant we! its not impossible. I believe that one day things wiLL change for the better for us as a people. So until Love,Unite,Respect,Promote,Encourage,Endorse,Black Enterprise. I do believe that one day ! One Day "Reperations will come into effect ". But it wont be given to us freely. It may not be in my lifetime but one day. Lets love one another like we use too. I never tire of saying I love you, You live in my heart and prayers*All Power To The People*
