Erin

music keeps me company always.

About Me

So I don't know how to conjure up my very essence in few words, but I guess I can divulge a few tidbits:
I'm Erin, I play jazz sax, (click here to listen to my music), I go out running in thunderstorms, I [try to] live without regrets, I write (although only very few read with their own eyes my soul poured out onto paper; there's a certain vulnerability to that), I love rain-soaked midnight city streets, México (mi segunda hogar), randomly beautiful everyday encounters... I have constellations of freckles from summers in the sun, and I have one singular favorite freckle.
Music is what keeps me keepin' on.
I am a dreamer, often times a lucid dreamer. I have a love/hate relationship with sleep. My favorite food is BTM. I make my own juice and bake my own bread. I love to cook, and it is fully enjoyed when I'm cooking for friends. I feel that a big glass of milk is best enjoyed in a tall blue glass, more than any other kind of glass. I can get uptown on a skateboard faster than it takes to ride the subway. I rarely wear skirts but when I do, I pair them with my asskicking boots. I'm mostly a t-shirt-and-jeans kinda gal. Sometimes I'm bold and daring, sometimes I'm painfully shy.
I find beauty in life's little imperfections, more than anything. I like unexpected things, discoveries. I love to read, I get really excited about good books. I like exchanging philosophies with the guy behind the counter at my local deli. Really random songs pop into my head whenever I ride in my elevator. (??) All my life I grew up a city girl. But now I really like having trees, and a dirt path in my neighborhood, and being able to see the moon every night.
I'm an oneironaut. I have a crooked pink bathtub and I swear it gets more crooked every day. Beginning to think that my kitchen is spooked. My favorite colors are earth colors. I like finding entertainment in things that you don't have to plug in. Good music turns me on. Great music hurts my heart. I always have flowers in my home. I also enjoy burying my face in bountiful bushels of basil.
And, apparently, I have a very strange way of tying my shoelaces.
Juice of the week: plumangocarrolime (plum, mango, carrot, lime).

Time seems to only bring us closer to or farther away from things,

but the most important aspect of time is the hardest to remember - the now. Just be here with me now.
