I am here for Dating, Serious Relationships and Friends

About Me

I've been told by those who know me very well that they have never met anyone like me. I've also been told that I'm a smart ass, a pain on the ass, and have a nice ass.

I'm as stubborn, determined and spoiled as Scarlett O'Hara, as structured and complex as Sally Albright, as dark and straight forward as Harry Burns, as clumsy and mischevious as Lucy, and as quirky, adventurous, free spirited, deep and prone to getting the mean reds as Holly Golightly. I take comfort in daily routine and the familiar, but thrive in new things and experiences. I am very feminine, but don't mind getting down and dirty.
Saying patience is not one of my virtues is an understatement.
Not easily impressed with material things, I value education, hard work, good manners, good habits, proper etiquette and being organized.
I believe in God as well as in Karma, but I don't subscribe to organized religion nor leave it all up to destiny. (Although if I had to pick, I'm Jewish.) I make things happen and try to do the right thing. Religion is like masturbation, it helps to fulfill certain personal needs, but it is private and should not be imposed upon others.
I'm independent, competitive and driven, but love to be nurtured and cared for. I'm constantly looking to grow, evolve and learn.
I moved to Portland 3 yrs ago in search for a more environmentally friendly and conscientious lifestyle. Although I don't look like it, I am an electric-car-driving, back-yard-veggie-gardening, sustainable-living hippie at heart. I do shave my underarms, though. I have to draw the line somewhere!! Animals are a big and important part of my family and life. I love animals so much that I choose not to eat them.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I want to re-connect with old friends and make new ones, preferably local. NO "one dimensional," grumpy or negative people, please. I am trying to surround myself with positive energies.
I welcome add on requests from LOCAL BLUES bands.
Although I'm not looking for "the one" since right now I am working on simplifying my life and getting my shit together. Nonetheless, if this describes you, I'll make an exception:
Please move on if you are a woman, lazy, religious, or looking for a sugar mama or a one night stand. Also, if you fish or hunt, don't bother.
I believe ALL relationships are based on friendship and founded upon trust, honesty, and common interests, habits, hobbies, priorities and goals. Veganism and sustainable living are a huge part of my life, so you must be open and curious about integrating this type of lifestyle.
I am not looking for a project. I don't want a man whom I inspire to be a better person. I want that better person! I won't try to change you, we're either right for each other or we aren't. Generally, I'm attracted to a cerebral and cultured man with a nice smile, kind heart and happy and positive disposition. We must have mutual attraction and chemistry. That means that I have to be attracted to you, too! You must take pride in your appearance and take good care of your body inside and out. After all, you are what you eat (and drink and smoke!) No pot/drug users, please!! I need someone who is "in the moment" with me and it is hard to do if you're under the influence. Very good personal hygiene is a must!! Exercise must be part of your life.
I appreciate a witty and charming person who can laugh at himself or situations and partake of silly banter, but I am not fond of guys who define themselves as funny.
You must be eloquent, but not overbearing. You don't necessarily have to have a college degree, but must enjoy reading (non-fiction) and learning and be able to partake in stimulating and intellectual conversation. You must also speak and write English properly.
Although hypocritical, I prefer someone with grown or no kids.
I also want what most people want, someone who is: honest, monogamous, responsible, passionate, sensitive, affectionate, hard working, considerate, thoughtful, compassionate, emotionally and physically available, and who is happy with his accomplishments, but is always looking to grown and better himself. I am a type A personality and my partner needs to keep up with me. You must have goals, ambition and drive.
I require a lot because I give a lot. I am looking for the right person for me. I am not in a rush. I'd rather be alone than with the wrong person.
If you have made it this far, thank you very much for taking the time, you brave soul! BTW, I don't reply to one line e-mails. I have said so much, you'd think that you could say more than one or two sentences.

You Can Always Count on Duff's
