It all began in 2000 when the Merendine Atomiche’s bass player decided to leave his former band in order to built up a ruder and more rougher new one. By the following June Metastasi was born.
The early times characterise the band as a Metallica tribute (first 3 albums only) which still can hardly keep a steady line-up.
In 2004 Die becomes the lead voice of the band and yet, tired of its unsettled line-up, chooses to turn Metastasi in a his own studio project.
So, with a helping hand from his most trusted friends he can record the first demo cd, “See You Later…â€.
The final result of this studio work doesn’t sound convincing enough to Die, on one hand for the less aggressiveness of the tracks, on the other hand for their excessive stillness and inadequate thoroughness.
In 2005 all Die’s friends involved in the “See You Later†studio recordings are to persuade him to bring back the band to life. The band is indeed brought to its rebirth, also thanks to the musical influence of one of Die’s most loved bands: Nuclear Assault.
Besides Diego gets even in touch with Dan Linker (bass player of the American thrash band) is actually successful after asking him his agreement in order to make of Metastasi the official Italian Nuclear Assault tribute band… moreover Dan seems even to be pleased and amused by the request coming from this Italian lad.
In 2007 Beast is bound by personal reasons to move and therefore to quite the band.
The temporary lack of a proper substitute for such a talented and skilful drummer leads Metastasi to take a forced break and to resume their brief experience within a new studio work: “Indultoâ€
The recordings turn out to be a sort of “economical†demo which still leaves Die satisfied.
The four tracks featuring in this second promo cd reveal several influences coming from Nuclear Assault style, so far that Die labels them as “my parentsâ€.
In late 2007 the two remaining members find a new drummer to substitute the former one, but stills the new come reveals himself to be completely inadequate with the band philosophy.
Far before “freezing†once again the band, Die is determined to reach one last but great goal: a live show to keep forever as a memory.. The bass player/lead vocals’ aim is not out of reach at all: on January 13th they perform at SottoSopra RockZone, a metal Live Club in Este (Padua) (locally well known as a great venue for lots of known metalbands, such as Rotting Christ, Malevolent Creations, Mystic Circle, 69 eyes, and many more) as opening act for the German thrash metal band Desaster.
The following February 29th Die ends up in close up with his bandmates, whom main blame was of not showing real passion and involvement his creature
When it all seemed to be over still, in the dept of the earth, a beast called Metastasi remains in wait to be waken up and some insane is soon likely to be going to do that ..
