About Me

Gothique Factory Records (formerly known as Elektronique Musique Factory and Elektronique Musique & Gothique Factory) was formed in June 1997 by electronic and gothic recording artist, Donovan Tate, founder of the synth-pop band ECHOES IN THE DARK who released two cassette albums; "Finally" (1999) and "Bleu Days" (2002). Two months later after the label released Echoes in the Dark album "Finally" in July 1999, the synth-pop trio Donovan-lyrics, vox, synth/drum programming; Demetra Tate-vox/personality; and Phillip Gentry-lyrics/vox, received a Bandwidth Award from Houston, Texas electronic music magazine Control-Alt-Delete for being a new up-and-coming band. Plus the record label itself Donovan formed got rewarded also from the magazine for being a new underground label in the city and state of Birmingham, Alabama, known for its historical roots where racism, segregation, the bombing of the four little black girls and the Civil Rights Movement took place. Gothique Factory promotes and sells records primarily through the internet, shows, and the streets. The only genre of music the label deals with is Electronica, Synth-Pop, Darkwave, Ethereal, EBM, Industrial, Experimental, Classical, Opera, New-Age, and World. The label is proudly to support the electro dance and dark scene with the album releases from its artists and its 80's influences from New-Wave, New Romantic, Punk, and the additional of Gothic as well. As an independent label, Gothique Factory is willing to help keep the Electro & Gothic scene alive.
