About Me

We are a collective of miscreants & fabulous freaks who are fully devoted to bringing ultra high quality, dark themed dance & performance events to the Magick City!
Our event is held at Matthews Bar & Grill in Northside Birmingham, Alabama on historic Morris Ave. (see our blog OR matthewsbarandgrill.com for address and directions)
Door entry fee is always $10 for 21+up, $12 for under 21
Doors always open at 9:00p.m.
We will proudly host a wide array of ultra talented dj's, traveling to us from all over the Southeast and beyond, spinning the very best of goth, industrial, death rock, ebm, synthpop, psytrance, shoegaze, electroclash, indie electronica, newwave, darkwave & so much more! They WILL mercilessly call you to the dance floor, leave you sweaty, spent, and craving for MORE, MORE, MORE!
Each & every "Sleep When You're Dead" Event features some of the southeasts most talented alt. performers. The performances will run the spectrum, that is most assured. You can expect to witness tribal bellydancers, circus sideshow acts, fire dance, gothic drag, spicy burlesque dance troupes & so very much more!
SLEEP WHEN YOU'RE DEAD is the proud home of the MAGICK CITY SIRENS BURLESQUE REVUE!!!! Our house entertainment is one of the most professional and diverse Burlesque Troupes in the Southeast.
And if the DJ's & Performers aren't enough for you we will also play host to the areas best "dark" visual artists & a plethora of vendors offering everything from leather accessories to handmade jewelry to latex clubwear.
Lest we not forget our very own Sleep When You're Dead "gore-gore" dancers! They are fucking stunning creatures, sinfully sexy, dressed to the nines, & artfully gyrating for your visual pleasure!
OUR DJ's ARE AS FOLLOWS:
1st in command at the helm is the ever-ruthless DJ Nemesis. You should know him from the likes of the Crimson Web, Kink Patrol, DragonCon, and the Chamber. He is well known for his high energy sets & we just know that he will leave you in a tattered, elated pile of flesh on the dancefloor!

Unique Specimens & Fabulous Freaks from every walk of life who are ready to set Birmingham's nightlife on fire!!!!! We fully endorse loud music, over the top costumery, booze swilling, unabashed rug cutting, debaucherous good times, & general bad assery!

We cannot stress to you all enough about just how much of a blood, sweat and tears project this is! We are all sooooo tired of having to drive at least two hours away for great nightlife, aren't you? We are going to such great time & effort to bring you a haven for freaks who have a sincere love for industrial, goth, synthpop, deathrock, ebm, psytrance, indie electronica, & electroclash musics. We just hope that you all enjoy it, embrace it, & support it....come out in force, dress up, dance, drink, & have the time of your lives over & over, each & every month!

This town NEEDS a night like this & you people DESERVE a night like this! But we can only keep it going if you rally for us! We are soooooooo tired of hearing how "Birmingham won't show out in force" for a night like this. PROVE THE NAYSAYERS WRONG!
