lots of stories, sneakers, style, and sarcasm....I also was in the Navy for over 5yrs. I was stationed on Submarines mostly out of Groton, CT.
1st boat was USS BILLFISH(ssn-676) 2.5yrs and then I helped fill in on the USS CORPUS CHRISTI for a few months to help them on their South America Deployment, then finished the last 2yrs on the USS MIAMI SSN-755
I have been to too many countries to recall now but some big places i have been to are;
Norway(2x),a trip to Paris from toulon, In Hafia Israel took a trip to Jerusalem, Naples & Rome, more italy incl. sardinia, puerto rico a bunch, (2x)Panama Canal on diff submarines, and crete. more but i cant recall them all.
In 99 I was in a major car accident where the car i was driving 100mph turned so the pass. side behind the pass. door struck a tree and split the car into 2 PARTS and WHOA lots of blood and wreckage and now over 150+ stiches and 2 skin grafts to my left eye area, My car came to rest wrapped around another tree next to my moms house at 230 am wow you dont ever want to hear the scream when your mother sees you covered in blood in the back of an ambulance with part of your face missing.
and now here I am ugly left eye and all.
So Drive carefull accidents ARE accidental and no one likes tragedy.My friends are more accurate about me than I even can. This is from one of the most influential friends I have. *DJ Junks..!
"Here are some other memorables for ya, an old school perspective of sorts:
As a kid, Joe was extremely loyal. He would literally give his friends the shirt off of his back, the shoes off of his feet, and the pants off of his ass(and often he did)....but would steal rampantly from strangers.
Joe was not only an extremely talented artist but a great athlete as well. Although I would have argued it to the death, he was an infinitely more talented skater and basketball player than I ever could have been and should have pursued athletics more aggressively. (Dude, you should have played ball in school).
Joe's Mom used to scream at him constantly for things that he didn't do, most of the times for things his "so called" friends had done.
Joe hated violence but always found a way for his friends to end up in a fight or an argument of some kind with strangers. (Thanks man). Joe's nickname was "Head" because he had a very large melon even though it was me that had a hard time finding fitted hats (still do).
Joe was extremely kind and thoughtful but was also painfully shy when I first met him. It took over a year of convincing before he would even talk to a girl even though there wasn't anyone more deserving of finding a great girlfriend.
Joe is solely responsible for getting me addicted to betting on race dogs, which left me close to bankrupt for a good 2 years. (Trifecta box key..all day long!) Joe is responsible for some very memorable moments which include numerous "focused" (snapped) skateboards, public intoxication, car chases, police pursuit and evasion, confiscation of various weapons, defacing of public and private property, house parties, hit-and-run accidents, rampant graffiti, loud music, painful hangovers, extremely part-time jobs, sarcastic remarks, and most importantly - lots of laughs at other people's expense. What a great friend!"
