I'm pretty open minded. If you put your heart and soul into your music, then I'll give you a fair hearing then make up my mind as to whether it's for me or not.Music has always been important in my life, not necessarily in the foreground all the ime, but it's always there, like a backdrop, and I can't imagine my life without having heard some of these voices....Marvin Gave, Prince, The Tubes, Teardrop Explodes, Big Wednesday, Brian Flack, Kate Bush, Wham!, The Cure, Martha Wainwright, Rufus Wainwright, Fiona Apple, The Eels, The Kills, Courtney Love, Siouxsie and The Banshees, Billie Holliday, Mars Volta, RHCP, Ed Harcourt, Linda Strawberry, Tobias Froberg, The Kooks, The Kinks, The Beatles, The Raconteurs, White Stripes, Foo Fighters, The The, Roy Ayers,The Police, Stevie Wonder, The Clash, Joe Strummer, Air, Ambulance Ltd, Morrissey, The Smiths, Ani di Franco, Eykah Badu, Outkast, Regina Spektor, Beck, Ben Harper, Cab Calloway, The Associates, The Prodigy, Foo Fighters, Everything But The Girl, The Cure, Robert Smith, Camera Obscura, Aztec Camera, Haircut 100, Kyuss, Funkadelic, Parliament, Galaxie 500, Men, Women and Children, Kool and the Gang, Keane, Metallica, Coldplay, QotSA, Level 42, Scritti Politti, Tapes n Tapes, Under the Influence of Giants, Yes, Bread, The Young Knives, Hall & Oates, The Killers......you get the general idea...finally if you make music and I love it, then I thank you for it deeply, it's going to have meant something to me at some point in my life.
Old classics really, like, Some Like it Hot, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, Bringing Up Baby, that sort of stuff. Busby Berkeley extravaganzas. Anything by Tim Burton. Like classic pairings on-screen - Bogart/Bacall, Tracy/Hepburn, Loy/Powell etc.
ER, Lost, The Office, Extras, Eastenders, CSI, Rescue Me, Desperate Housewives, Blackadder, Johnathan Ross, Taxi, St Elsewhere, Hillstreet Blues, Never Mind the Buzzcocks.I miss decent music programmes, like The Tube. Jools is about the only one on worth watching.
Right, let's grab the bull by the horns, so to speak. Reading seems to have gone out of fashion, and that is fucking worrying. Reading is brilliant, it opens your mind, and introduces a different way of thinking. I personally have read too many books to mention, but I really only enjoy Biography/Autobiographies. I LOVE reading about peoples' lives.
My Dad. First single parent I knew! Brought me up alone, from when I was 9. Taught me a lot, not perfect, but good role model, and intelligent, funny bloke.
