The Path was a musical project created in 1991 by Davide (Guitar/vocals) and Lorenzo Borghi (drums)to play some kind of emotional music.Starting from 70's Doom Sound and Scandinavian Death Metal influences, The Path reached a personal style under the unique "dead man's profile" of Monte Cusna, in the Appennine Mountains.Joined later by the talented keyboards player Elio Zambonini and bass player Luca Sillari, The Path started playing concerts and recorded "Ethereality" (1994) and "Asrai Dance" (1995) demos. With these releases The Path was claimed as one of the best and most original gothic-progressive metal bands of the underground in magazines such as Grindzone and Metal Shock, and great gigs were played at local festivals as "Una montagna di Rock" and "Frassonoro" for a very great audience.New bassist Marco Rossi replaced Luca Sillari in 1995 and then he left the band a year and a half later to follow his personal projects. Gianmaria Iori took care of bass guitar in Summer 1996, and his first gig with The Path was a wonderful concert supporting italian alternative rock act Ustmamò in front of 1000 people. In Autumn 1996 The Path entered Joy Recording Studio to record the "Nightbirds and the Blooming Moon" MCD, showing a growing progressive feeling in their music. The releasee of this work was delayed due to an unprofessional label and The Path, while creating new songs and playing gigs, decided to release professionally the mcd as a self-production, almost a year later."Nightbirds and the blooming Moon" got very positive reviews almost everywhere and raised great hopes for a great full lenght album, but the band splitted up in 1998.This page was build to keep our music and emotions living and to celebrate the seven years existence of The Path and its contribution to our musical quest, personal growth and spiritual research.
