Bonescrew

Dark, heavy and as cheerful as a rainy day

About Me

First appearing on the scene in early 2000, Bonescrew stands in stark contrast to what is readily available in the mainstream and the local circuit. The band releases the first of two demos, "Bound Beaten Screwed" which quickly makes the play list of several area radio station's local shows and garnered several rave reviews. Brett, from Transcending the Mundane in New York had this to say "Bonescrew is a band that refuses to fall into the predictable, dull style most gothic metal bands present." The band's self made label, Savagelane Records, brings in Mike C. in mid 2001 and immediately adopts a vigorous live schedule performing in venues all over New England. Bonescrew is nominated "Best New Band of 2001" by Jam Magazine. The 2nd demo, "...this is not reality" is released as a promotional only disc in early 2002.
With the band gaining visibility on a national level as well as locally due to press in such publications as High Times Magazine, Metal Maniacs, The Noise, and Soundcheck Magazine, Bonescrew is invited to perform at the Abrasive Rock Fest II in Olympia, WA. giving the West coast it's first live taste of the band. The band is greeted out West with favorable press in The Tacoma Reporter and The Olympia Buzz. Soon after returning from the west, the band played to a crowd of 35,000 at the annual WBCN/High Times Magazine sponsored MASSCANN/NORML Freedom Rally on the Boston Common. DJ Deek from WBCN had this to say, "Bonescrew, I could easily dub one of the more visual and aggressive shows I've seen in a long, long, time."
Throughout 2003 Bonescrew has traveled the North East region and is currently planning for a 2004 US Tour. With the recent success of their new album, "Ask for Nothing", Bonescrew has gained many articles, interviews, and reviews in some of the hottest publications found around the Boston and New England area, such as The Noise, Soundcheck, The Alternative News, Decibel Magazine, and many more.
"Bonescrew is unpredictable, mind blowing and very different than any other goth metal type act Ive ever heard. Very powerful, creative and their music leaves you remembering them and their show for quite some time." - Bob Donovan The Alternative News MyGen Profile Generator
