This is the toughest category for me because one of the biggest draw backs in being a writer is that it is almost impossible to read a book simply out of enjoyment. I constantly judge and critique every book I read, looking for strengths and weaknesses that I can learn from for my own writing. The books and authors that I grew the most reading are: "Glue" by Irvine Welsh for his engaging voice, William Shakespeare for his colorful and lively characters, Victor Hugo for his incredible sense of scope and purpose, Oscar Wilde for his wit, Jane Austin for her humanity and Dante for his imagination.
