Formed in Melbourne, FL in June of 2003, Lydia can't Breathe play their own style of unapprehensive metal with conviction and passion. Developing a sound that is not completely unfamiliar to their genre, it is their individual influences that yield a refreshing look at metal with a conscious disregard for the current trends.
A project initially conceived by vocalist Kyle Bolduc, the band was named Fat Dan Mafia after the newly acquired guitarist Dan Wilson. After recruiting bassist Dirk "ToG" Grobb, the band eventually started the inevitable local gigging process. In time, along with perfecting their skills over their numerous shows, they also improved upon their name, drawing inspiration from the beloved Beetlejuice character Lydia. Nearly a year later, after gaining local recognition, Lydia can't Breathe was forced to fill the vacated drummer position. It was decided that Josh Runfeldt was the man for the job. Subsequent line-up changes include Dirk switching to guitar and Shad Roundy playing bass.
Lydia can't Breathe has shared the stage with Architect, Dance Club Massacre, Last Chance to Reason, The Network, Dead man in Reno and Autumn Offering.
