I do not consider it an insult, but a compliment to be called Agnostic. I am Agnostic; I do not pretend to know what many ignorant men are sure of.
On Virtue
The most important thing is to live a virtuous life. Doing the right thing is its own reward; doing wrong is its own punishment. There is nothing worse than being a bad person.
On Liberty
The state is only expected to intervene in personal affairs of people when individuals are guilty of gross antisocial behavior and are a danger to others.
On Freedom
You can protect your liberties in this world only by protecting the other man's freedom, you can only be free if I am free. True patriotism hates injustice in its own land more than anywhere else.
The Christian Church
Christianity (very much like Islamic belief) is a theology that professes Dogma. Dogma is a doctrine of belief presented as absolute truth in an authoritarian manner.
If a person steadfastly believes himself to be a member of the one true faith, than the other fellow clearly, in his mind, must be converted or killed.
Society
Conformity and the comfort of being subsumed by a structured society is a refuge for the cowardly, but that is an illusion anyway. All is chaos in the existential playbook...
To accept this lot in life is to live what Sartre called "authentically". It is only the brave hearts out there that have the courage to live an authentic life, and they heroically struggle to maintain human dignity in a world of bureaucrats and automatson and nothingness.
