All my life's been wasted chasing shallow dreams...

About Me

I'd give up all these things to have you in my arms right now...
Creative, artistic, music-loving, I'm a divorcee (or will be once the paperwork is done), former horse breeder and working professional who in all of that never stopped being a fangirl. I live for music, as well as movies, some anime and other things as fandom seems to be one of my biggest hobbies. I have a collection of betta fish and love to make beaded jewelry, as well as be on my computer and chat with people. Always looking to try new music, and trading is fun, too, because it keeps my collection ever growing. I love role playing games, going to movies, concerts and amusement parks, and I am a roller coaster fanatic as well. The current loves of my life are my new car, a white '04 Mustang my computer, and I'm trying to find someone nice to spend my time with who has some of the same interests as me (I'd say a safe bet it they'd have to be a music lover, lol).
My personality is to some sweet and charming and to others agressive and abrasive. I guess I'm different things to different people. I have little tolerance for stupidity, ignorance or homophoebia, though I am usually always willing to give someone a chance and get to know them. I can be a great friend and a great ear to listen, so long as I feel as though the friendship is returned. Basically though I'm just another person in this crazy, mixed-up world who is still trying to find herself, and that key to what makes a happy life. There's one thing that I do know for sure, and the main ingredient for me is lots and lots of music. :-)
(and as requested by Nick, that I put this here, lol...)

My Interests

Music. Did I say music? And besides that I like creating things, art, making jewelry, movies, anime, role playing games, my computer, chatting, writing (both original fiction and fanfiction), graphic design, self-publishing, horses, Lipizanners, dressage riding, Ford Mustangs, betta fish, and all kinds of other things.

I'd like to meet:

Weird, eclectic people like me, and of course music lovers.

Music:

The easiest thing for me to say here is that I like almost anything, so long as it's not rap, country or pop. Currenly my all-time favorite bands ever are RUSH and Iron Maiden, and besides them I listen to a host of everything else. Linkin Park, Good Charlotte, Her Daily Obsession, End of Radio, MEST, Silverchair, The Dissociatives, Kill Hannah, 30 Seconds to Mars, Sum 41, The Damned, MSI, The 69 Eyes, Manson, Nosferatu, HIM, The Sisters of Mercy, Muse, Idlewild, Gomez, SOAD, Hole, Auf der Maur, Live, Deadsy, Feeder, Collective Soul, Toad the Wet Sprocket, GooGoo Dolls, Death Cab for Cutie, Interpol, The Ramones, Bad Religion, Everclear, Staind, Cake, Sparta, Trapt, The Academy Is..., Armor for Sleep, AFI, MCR, The Rasmus, A Perfect Circle, Badly Drawn Boy, The Killers, Green Day, And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Def Leppard, Buckethead, Depeche Mode, Incubus, 3 Doors Down, Orgy, Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Enya, Loreena McKennit, Tori Amos, Poe, Blondie, Drain STH, Just about anything 80's alternative or punk, etc, etc... Honestly, there isn't too much I won't listen to, and my list of favorites is endless as it grows all the time. I'm always looking to learn about some new music, so by all means, recommend someone to me so I can add it to the list!

Movies:

My favorite movie of all time is Jacob's Ladder. Other favorites incluse My Cousin Vinny, the LOTR trilogy, the Neverending story, Alexander, The Black Stallion, the Lethal Weapon movies, the Die Hard movies, the Terminator series, etc... I like adventure, fantasy, action, horror and especially psychological thrillers, and of course the occasional "chick-flick" thrown in, but I'm definitely more into very 'in-your-face' movies. The more scary, gory or gruesome it is, generally the more I like it.

Television:

Honestly, I hardly watch TV anymore, other than a few things like Seinfeld reruns (my favorite sitcom), Discovery Channel, Food Network, Cartoon Network (Ed, Edd and Eddy kills me!), Animal Planet, VH1/MTV, and shows here and there as I catch them, which isn't often.!

Books:

Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Neil Peart and Mickey Zucker-Reichert are currently my favorite authors.

Heroes:

I don't really have any heroes. I'd have to say that right now the people I look up to are ones that have managed to work for what they've wanted, and make their dreams come true, despite anyone else telling them that it could not be done. I admire a few musicians for their sheer talent and the pleasure that they've brought me, those being Geddy Lee and Daniel Johns among others. And I guess, realistically, my biggest hero has to be my dad. :)

No, I'm not dead...

Haven't written here in a while as I've just been 1) a little busy and 2) haven't seen any shows recently, and being that I mostly write about shows here, well, hence the absence. I know, no excuse. ...

Iron Maiden at the Tweeter Center at the Camden Waterfront

So Saturday night was the much-anticipated Iron Maiden concert, and as I have not seen them since they toured for Somewhere in Time, I was excited. Another rite of passage, I consider it, to see Iron ...
