Example: Greenday won a grammy for the CD American Idiot.
Greenday, a, not great, not even good, but somewhat decent pop-punk band. They're around for how many years, and noone really gives a fuck about them. I guarantee you couldn't find one person then who's favorite band was greenday.
Now, they release a decent CD (Nimrod) Then suddenly drop off the earth for years.. suddenly, they come back.. with a stupid "We're gonna be punk and sing songs about how bush sucks" thing, dressed like alkaline trio, and wearing eye-liner.. Suddenly, every girl in the world loves greenday. Not because they're musically talented.. not because they care about the message, and not because of feeling in the song.. but because "Billie Joe is hott!! OMFG!!." The reason they think he's "hott".. Because he has dyed black hair, and wears eye-liner.
Because of this, every 14 year old girl in America buys the CD. This nominates the CD for a grammy, and they win. Greenday does not deserve a fucking grammy.. Fuck you Billie Joe.
