Nothing can save you...Seeking no truth/Winning is all/Find it so grim, so true, so real - Metallica

About Me

I work full time as a mechanical engineer and am still trying to finish my MS in mechanical engineering (but plan to scrap my thesis and start over). I'm not a materialistic person and don't really care about who's trendy or what's in fashion. In general I'd like to think I'm easy going and laid back but also know I can be a complete head-case work-a-holic. And I like the Muppets. So sue me. What Disneyland attraction are you?
Space Mountain: A thrilling rocket ride through the darkness of outer space! Futuristic and forward thinking, you have just enough 2001-esk elements without escaping Walt Disney's utopian vision for a brighter tomorrow. You represent speed, stealthness, and the promise of technology, while your Dick Dale surf guitar riff of a soundtrack makes you retro and mysterious, without being corny. Keep the lights low and avoid revealing too much, lest you ruin the show, you're only going 28 mph! Regardless of speed, you prove that in the vacuum in space, you CAN hear people scream!

My Interests

Hockey - Watching or playing. I might get into coaching one day. I'm 0-1 as a coach. Music - I'm a bassist/vocalist in a band that is starting out and just getting to the point of looking for places to play. It's a cross between punk/rock/metal. Heavily influenced by Dead Kennedys, Metallica, Subhumans, Godflesh, Prong, My Bloody Valentine, etc... I like to think it's different. Video games - hey, I'm a single guy

I'd like to meet:

People I know that I've lost touch with, local people (I'm relatively new to this area), and co-workers. But don't just send a "friend request" unless I already know you. That means "no strippers!" I don't want psycho-cocaine addicted people who feel the need to post lingere clad pictures of themselves taken in a bathroom with a cell phone as 'friends' or even associates. Otherwise - please write me a note first.

Music:

Punk (Ten Foot Pole, Subhumans, Pulley, Dead Kennedys, Bad Religion, NOFX, AFI, Guttermouth, Pennywise, MxPx, Anti-Flag, Death by Stereo), Metal (Exodus, Metallica (before the black album), old school Iron Maiden, Drown, Fear Factory, Sepultura, Avenged Sevenfold, Anthrax, Old school GnR, System of a Down (now that Anthony finally got me to listen to them!)), Classic Rock (back to Buddy Holly), Jazz (Basie, Goodman, Miller, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Duke Ellington, Louie Armstrong), classical (Bach to Beethoven, Mussosrsky being a favorite (Ravel orchestrations)), and other random groups like Buck O' Nine, Funeral for a Friend, Voodoo Glow Skulls, KMFDM, Nine Inch Nails... And for people that double-cross/lie/cheat/screw over/etc... watch the video above (Dirty Rotten Imbiciles) and listen to the words on the first song (Five Year Plan from the album Crossover).

Movies:

Sci-Fi (Star Wars (original ones), Aliens, Predator, Fifth Element, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings) Action (True Lies, Top Gun, etc...) Comedy (Analyze This, Animal House, Blues Brothers, Kevin Smith films, Princess Bride, anything Monty Python)Pretty much open to different types of movies. Not a huge fan of horror though.

Television:

Sportscenter, news, hockey, TLC/Discovery Channel, football and X-Play. I generally don't like normal TV shows. I also don't have cable. To be honest, I lose my remote periodically and don't notice.

Books:

Sci-Fi/Fantasy and general fiction. Favorite authors include Douglas Adams, Neal Stephenson (Snow Crash is awesome!), Tolkien, R.E. Howard, William Gibson, Tom Clancy, and Isaac Asimov.

Heroes:

Jello Biafra, Marty Brodeur, Curtis Joseph, Scott Stevens, Bryan McCabe, Bono, anyone that can influence people to think for themselves, people who follow their own path, people who question what they are told.
