My names Jodie, I first got into photographing musicians after studying photography throughout high school. In 2003 I was lucky enough to shoot my first ever live concert - Silverchair's Diorama tour in Newcastle which was still to this day the highlight of my career! I established Stillrock Photography in 2005. Initially I started out in this industry as a hobbie, combining my love for photography with my passion for music, culture and life.... I have since expanded my mind a little and taken on different styles of music, venues and started dabbling in promo photography for Artists as well as behind the scenes, natural and portraiture art.
The last 18 months has been a massive journey from shooting concerts like 'Make Poverty History' to rock 'n'roll legends Roger Waters and Eric Clapton which I am forever grateful for!
More recently I have becomed involved with the making of an upcoming documentary BRUTAL AUSTRALIA which I am the official photographer. If you're into heavy Australia music I recommend you check out their site!
On an artistic note, although this industry/business can be demanding, harsh and very commercial I still considre myself an Artist first, with photography as my medium. I believe that capturing a fantastic shot isn't about technical perfection (although this can be nice too) but rather an emotion or a message.
