About Me

I'm an artist & designer.
I shred drums. I'm weird. I don't sleep. I buy way too many movies.
Portfolio: www.aaroncrawfordart.com
I play drums in by the sins fell angels
Close to my heart:
Leigh, art, my band, my friends, good tunes, reading, film, drums, galleries, painting, photoshop, prismacolor, photography, cuddle sessions, awesome animals, meeting bands I've done work for, meeting other artists, free apparel, drinkin with good people, keggers, beer, sleeping in, roadtrips, the beach, coffee shops, phirebrush, juxtapoz, beautiful decay, high fructose, spending countless hours in art supply stores, moviestop, netflix, & the list goes on.
I'm not a self absorbed person, and I'm not here to compete with anyone, I just create. I truly do appreciate the comments & countless messages from people that enjoy my work. They mean way more then you think. You can send me pictures of you or your friends wearing any apparel that I've designed, or displaying a piece of art / print that you've purchased from me, that would be totally sick, sicker than avian influenza.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS! GO!
Q: Where were you born?
A: Augusta, GA. I've lived here most of my life, but I also lived in Europe for a few years when I was younger, but eventually ended up residing in Augusta. It's not too here.
Q: How long have you been designing merch for bands?
A: I've always dabbled in drawing, painting, and writing as I was growing up, but got into it as a career late 2003, early 2004. My mom paints and that also inspired me alot to pursue things.
Q: Where does your inspiration come from?
A: To be honest, just thoughts I have in my head, conversations, horror movies, anything really. I try and stay open minded. Sometimes a client will give me a basic concept or lyrics to run with, and I get ideas from that. I'm always sketching out ideas in a notepad, it just kind of flows out.
Q: What kind of materials do you use?
A: Well for most of the merch design stuff, I use ink, and photoshop. I also love to do traditional stuff such as painting, etc.
Q: Did you attend art school?
A: I attended a local college for a few months, ( which wasn't an art school ) but it didn't work out for me, so I guess, no.
Q: Will you design merch for my band / company?
A: Most likely, yes, but serious inquiries only! Please don't waste my time. If you don't plan on distributing the merch I design for you, don't bother contacting me.
Q: Will you design a tattoo for me?
A: Possibly, depending on the concept you have in mind, i might feel it's better suitable for an artist with more of a tattoo art background. it also depends on how swamped i am with other art stuff at the time, but ask me anyway, a new challenge is always fun.
Q: where can i purchase some of the merch you've designed?
A: simple, just go to the band or company's website, and contact them. i don't sell any of the merch, only design it.
Q: will you redo our myspace layout?
A: yes. i enjoy doing layouts, i'm not the best at it, but i can do enough to make your page look a little more professional then it did before. Just ask.
Q: what other artists do you look up to?
A: alot, but mainly my good friend mark riddick, he's been doing merch design since 1991, and he's very consistent, and he always has insane concepts. He's also the nicest dude to talk to, for sure. Alex Pardee, Greg Simkins, Blaine Fontana, Aaron Horkey, Nernie Wrightson, Ralph Steadman Zornow, and of course, Pushead. Those dudes are just beastly, and I always follow their work. I also enjoy the paintings of HR. Giger, Salvidor Dali, and a ton of others.
Q: What are you available to design?
A: Clothing/apparel, logo design, cd art/album layouts, poster/flyer design, buttons/sticker/patch design, paintings, flash banners/ads/promotional tools. anything really, just ask!
Q: Why do you watch so many horror movies?
A: Because horror is the best genre of all time. No questions asked. Don't get me wrong, I'm very open minded about movies, but horror has always been a fascination for me.
Everyone has these stupid things.
