Improvised music on Sarode, Recorders, Cajón, Perc

About Me

Improvised music on recorders, sarode, and percussion ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Magic Carpet is a unique musical fusion of rhythms and melodies from around the globe; Middle Eastern, Indian, Latin, and beyond....traditional melodies played on non-traditional instruments, modern music played on traditional instruments, original compositions discovered in the moment. Acoustic, living music for reflection and discovery....Annette and Rachael combine improvisation with traditional and original compositions. Turkish and Greek melodies mingle with Spanish bulerías and Cuban rhythms. Indian ragas and Middle Eastern grooves weave into a rich musical tapestry. Medieval musical forms appear alongside “odd” meter improvisations. Our instruments include medieval recorders, cajón, daf frame drum, and sarode. Sharing a love for music from around the world, our improvisations are inspired by a sense of the present moment and space in which we find ourselves, making each performance unique and alive.
