The Mexicanâ„¢

I was born in Mexico, on September 29th 1977 and have lived in Florida for most of my life. I used to travel with my family up north because we used to be migrant workers. We would pack our lives into my dad's truck and her north to follow the crops. I remember picking cucumbers when I was only 13 years old. It was one of the hardest jobs in the world.We did what we had to do to make money to eat. It was hard but well worth it. I remember my parents telling me that if I didn't want to be doing that for the rest of my life that I would have to do good in school. Through their hard work and my hard work as well I manged to save myself from the fields. However, the hardwork has made me who I am today, a well rounded individual who takes nothing for granted. I work hard for what I have. I consider myself a very good person that many people tend to love. I have met many people in my life and they all have a few pages in the book that's called "My Life". Some of them might even have more than one chapter. I consider myself a good person to have as a friend, I tend to give good advice. If I can't give you advice I will listen to what you have to say. I'm very compromising and would rather see you happy than to see you upset. Wow, what a long & strange trip its been since I wrote the preamble to my consitution of love. I have been through many short relationships, the longest being 1.5 years with a very great person who I consider my best friend now. Sure we get on eachother's nerves almost everyday. but we can't stay mad at eachother for more than a few minutes. Though we have not been together for over 4 years, we have grown very close, and I look at him as more of a younger brother. He will always hold a special place in my heart. After that, there have been a few somewhat meaningful relationships but none lasting for more than 6 months. I know surprising how you'd think that someone as stable and as grounded as me can't manage to hold onto a relationship for more than 6 months, well let me tell you, it's damn hard. Some of the guys have been wonderful guys, but the chemistry just is not there. Other's have been decent guys the chemistry has been there but only on my part. I have many times decided to just be single, but just when I decide to do that, someone pops into my life, but like the fire from a match, the flame quickly dies. Let's hope this stops happening soon. I recently discovered that love isn't always what it appears to be. Though a relationship might appear as perfect, sometimes, it's not. Like the old saying goes: "not everything that glitters is gold". I've dealt with my demons, and I am at peace with my self. I found strength in my moments of weakness through my friends.
