Wasting Days is Gil Comeaux on bass, John Quick on guitar, Shane Magie on drums and Matt Elliott, vocals and guitar.
The band started as a three piece. Comeaux, Elliott, and Magie made up the initial members of the band. The pioneers invited guitarist and long time friend, Nik Knight, in 2003. However, in late 2004, Magie left the band, and fans wondered what happened to the band that created such a buzz.
Wasting Days brought John Quick on drums. Ignorance and Atrophy was recorded after Quick’s arrival and Days went on tour to support their debut album.
In July 2006, progress came to a halt when guitarist, Knight, was found dead in his home. Needless to say, in April 2007, Wasting Days reformed with Magie back on drums and Quick on guitar.
The band’s sophomore release is a rare form of tuned expression. Lyrically, Beautiful Shame colors the canvas with the main theme of love, loss, and reflection while being reinforced musically by the bands amazing ability to breathe climactic emotion into each chord so that the listener can feel the intensity before the first word is ever spoken. It is a lament to mortality, and a refreshing reminder of all the qualities that make us human: anger, happiness, love, sorrow…… life.
