E. Dane was born in Odessa, Ukraine when it was still part of the Soviet Union. Being Jewish his family encountered a lot of anti Semitism, prejudice, and injustice from the people living there, and the unfair and harsh communist government. So late in the 80s his mother, father, and himself along with all his other family immigrated to America for a better life Currently E. Dane lives in Hollywood, FL where he moved to from North Miami Beach in 1996 after the sudden death of his mother. That was the year his life took a drastic turn and changed him forever. The emptiness that overcame him was overwhelming. Ripping and running the streets became a way of life and a way to fill that void... or so he thought. Influenced by the street and fast money run ins with the law became frequent. Being on house arrest in 2000, not being able to run the streets, E. Dane picked up a pen and pad for the first time. Before E. Dane started writing verses, he started out with a journal and some poetry in order to help him see his thoughts more clearly and to channel his energy onto something positive. Eventually he realized that he had a talent for poetry, so he gave rap a try and realized that there is no greater way of releasing his stress then letting it out with his voice and sharing it with the world. Learning that some old time friends from the old neighborhood of North Miami Beach were starting a small time record label called Sledgehammer Productions Inc., E. Dane came through for a freestyle session and found a home in the studio. Rapping became a way to escape all the negativity and injustice of the world around him, a way to vent his frustrations, anger, and pain... but the streets had another plan for E. Dane, and a much tighter grip. In 2002 his affliction with fast money, drugs, and the streets finally caught up with him. E. Dane was sentenced to 2 years in state prison. A lot of times he felt like giving up. But in the end, death, prison, drugs, betrayal, and the devil himself couldn't stop him from overcoming his demons and expressing himself the best way he knows how. "I've been through hell and back, died and came back, and now I'm out here just trying to make it, and leave behind a legacy, giving it to you blood raw. Much love and respect to all those that showed me that unconditional love. Your support is not in vain."- E. Dane -
