About Me

I'm from Texas and damn well proud of it. I have an obscenely complicated name that's been passed down my family for nine generations. I'm in the Navy as a video broadcaster and a petty officer third class. I'm in Norfolk Virginia and I hate every inch of this state. My favorite drink is a tie between jagerbombs and captain coke. I'm an avid gamer but don't tell anybody. The Departed is my official hangover movie. I'm addicted to sunflower seeds. Windows Vista is ruining my life. I'll wear pants in the summertime. I've got an odd fascination with knives. My hair has a flip. I miss my dog Chili. I laugh at everything, even near-death experiences. I'm normally reserved and kinda quiet until I've got alcohol in me then it's hard to shut me up. I tend to catch trips when I've got pocket pair (it may sound dirty but it's poker related). I need $2,000 and a ninja..
*Addendum= I'm currently deployed with the Nassau Strike Group out somewhere on the other side of the Atlantic, I'm on the USS Nashville right now having a blast working independently and thouroughly enjoying the port calls we've had so far. I've been working fairly hard as well, I've got quite a few photos that have posted on navy.mil, if you type my name in they should pop up. I should be transfering back to the Nassau pretty soon and back in the states within a matter of months, unless we get delayed or something crazy like a war starts. Ya'll can reach me when I get back to the Nassau at [email protected]

My Interests

My job currently with the Navy is that of a Broadcast Journalist. I'm known for finding the odd shots that people don't see and for editing together solid video packages in under an hour. Other than that I've had a pretty varied life so far and that's given me a lot of interests and hobbies. Interests include: Sailing, hiking, my two dogs, drinking, video games, knife-throwing, jogging (I think there may be a silent "j"), driving, golf carts, drawing, building things (sailboats, houses, etc.), a little swordplay here and there, and just the general hanging out.

I'd like to meet:

Whoever, I'm laid back and easy to get along with. But please, no random invites from random people. If I've met you in person though you should easily get the add.

Music:

Lately if I can find a remix of an old song I love I will immediately love it, but I'll listen to just about anything as long as it's got talent (and yes that includes country, I'm from Texas dammit, as well as a few select classical songs). But I usually sway towards Indie/active rock. The majority of my iTunes line up is as follows: Aerosmith, AFI, Alan Jackson, America, the Animals, Arctic Monkeys, At the Drive-In, Atmosphere, Beastie Boys, Beatles, Beck, Ben Folds, Blink-182 (from way back in the day), Bloc Party, Bob Dylan, Brad Paisley, the Bravery, a ridiculous amount of BT (phenomenal DJ, seriously buy his stuffs), Bush, Cake, Clint Black, Coldplay, Crystal Method, Cute is what we aim for, Daft Punk, David Bowie, DJ Danger Mouse (gotta love the Grey Album), the Doors, the Eagles, Elton John, Elvis, Eric Clapton, Fall Out Boy, Fat Boy Slim, Fiona Apple, Foo Fighters, Frank Sinatra (you need the classics son), the Fray, Garth Brooks, George Strait, Gorillaz ("Tomorrow come today is still one of my favorite songs), Handsome Boy Modeling School, Hot Hot Heat, Incubus, James Brown, Jamiroqui, Jason Mraz, Jay Z, Jet, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Buffett, Johnny Cash, Journey, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, the Killers, Melee, Micheal Buble, Micheal Jackson (I may or may not know how to do the "Thriller" dance, depends on my blood alcohol level), Modest Mouse, Muse, Nelly Furtado, Nirvana, Panic! at the Disco, Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd, Placebo, Poe, the Postal Service, Prince, Queen, Radiohead, the Ramones, Regina Spektor, the Rocket Summer (out of Dallas, easily my favorite band), Rolling Stones, Run DMC, Semisonic, Seu Jorge, Smashing Pumpkins, Sneakerpimps, Snow Patrol, Soul Coughing, the Strokes, Taking Back Sunday, Timbaland, Tom Jones, Tom Petty, U2, the Verve, Weezer, the White Stripes, the Who, Wilco, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Movies:

I'll watch anything but most chick flicks. Some of the more recent favorite movies are (and mind you I know I'll leave something out so this is in no way complete, these are just what I currently have in my DVD collection): Fight Club, 28 days/weeks later, 300(!), Beerfest, Big Fish, Blades of Glory, the Blade Trilogy, Casino Royale (I'm glad they hit the reset button on the Bond franchise), Clerks 1&2, Dawn of the Dead (I have an odd fascination with zombie movies), Deja Vu (Anything directed by Tony Scott is incredible. Don't believe me? Watch "Domino." The majority of those effects weren't done digitally but by chemically altering the film. That's talent.), The Departed, Elephant, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (Most CGI movies are shot like any normal movie, this one gets the kind of shot angles and transitions that are only possible in CG and because they push that limit it make's this "fanfare" incredible), Flyboys, Ghost in the Shell (What makes you you?), Grandma's Boy, The Great Escape (If I could recreate the motorcycle Steve McQueen rides in this I would drive it everyday and rub it in Nazi's faces), Harold And Kumar go to White Castle, Hot Fuzz (Shaun of the Dead was better), Knocked Up (Anything involving Judd Apatow is golden), League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (I just love the concept), The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, The Manchurian Candidate (the original with Sinatra), Ninja Scroll, Pan's Labyrinth, Peaceful Warrior (watch it, of all the movie's in my list this is the most apt to change your life), Planet Terror, Princess Bride (This makes me want to build up an immunity to some kind of poison), Reefer Madness: The Musical (This DVD has smelled like brownies since I bought it almost a year ago), Rounders, Rushmore, Serenity (watch this and the entire Firefly series. Hand's down the most innovative Sci-Fi in years and Fox cancelled it as fast as they could), Shaun of the Dead, Shooter, Smokin' Aces, Super Troopers, Talladega Nights, Thank you for smoking, TMNT, Tombstone, V for Vendetta, Wicker Park, X.

Television:

God, I haven't watched TV in about a year in a half.. I kinda like it that way though.

Heroes:

My Father, Ramza Beoulve, Vash(Ericks), Bryce Avary, Cloud Strife
