Desde que tengo uso de razón siempre he estado golpeando toda clase de objetos siguiendo el ritmo de la música, y quizás por ello a los catorce años mi madre me sugirió recibir clases de batería para ver si me gustaba. Recuerdo la primera clase como si fuera ayer, ya que desde ese momento supe que esto sería mi vida. Las clases las daba Luis García, un reputado baterista con un curriculum envidiable. Luis no sólo fue mi profesor sino mi amigo, y ha sido una parte importantísima en mi vida al posibilitarme el hacer una prueba con Saratoga cuando Joaquín Arellano dejó la formación.Esta prueba con Saratoga fué en 1998, cuando yo tenía 20 años y hasta la fecha había tocado con varios grupos de los cuales el más destacable era Eczema, una banda de Death Metal bastante técnico. Durante un tiempo estuve compatibilizando ambos grupos, pero por diferencias musicales y personales dejé Eczema después de estar seis años con ellos y grabar dos maquetas.Con Saratoga he vivido cosas buenas, malas y algunas realmente maravillosas con las que muchas personas sólo sueñan, como compartir escenario con tu grupo favorito o grabar un DVD en directo con una sala a reventar. En el 2003 se forma Stravaganzza, un grupo con el que queríamos romper moldes y dar rienda suelta a nuestra inventiva. Mis compañeros de Stravaganzza eran Leo Jiménez (cantante de Saratoga), Edu Fernández y Pepe Herrero, y con ellos grabé el que posiblemente será uno de los mejores discos en los que he trabajado, "Sentimientos".A finales del 2004 Jorge Escobedo grabó un disco homenaje a Ozzy Osbourne y me pidió que colaborara. El día de la grabación hubo muy buena química y me comentó si quería formar parte de Skizoo, un proyecto en principio temporal junto con Antonio Bernardini mientras Sober estaba parado. El proyecto me atrajo mucho y decidí embarcarme en algo que más adelante sería algo más que un proyecto.Skizoo comenzó a crecer hasta hacerse muy complicado poder estar al 100% en Saratoga y Skizoo a la vez, con lo que decidí a finales del 2005 dejar Saratoga. A los 6 meses por razones discográficas y personales decidí dejar Stravaganzza, centrándome por completo en Skizoo. ---------------------- As far as I remember I have always been beating all kind of objects following the rhythm of music. That may be why my mum suggested me to take drum lessons when I was fourteen. I remember the first class very clearly, since that moment I realized out this was my main passion. The lessons were taught by Luis Garcia, a well-known drummer with a striking background. Luis was not only my teacher, but my friend, and he has been a very important part of my life giving me the chance to be the drummer of Saratoga when the former drummer left the band. I became the new drummer of Saratoga in 1998, when i was 20, and up to that moment I had played with several bands. The most important was Eczema -a Death Metal band with many technical details. For some time I played in both bands, but due to musical and personal matters I decided to quit Eczema after six years.With Saratoga I went through good and bad moments. Some of them have been great days which most people only dream of, like playing on stage with your favourite band or recording a live CD at a soldout concert. In 2003 Stravaganzza was created -a band meant to get over the current limits of Metal music. My mates in Stravaganzza were Leo Jimenez -Saratoga's vocalist- Edu Fernandez and Pepe Herrero. Along with them I recorded one of the best albums I've been involved in, "Sentimientos".At the turn of 2004 Jorge Escobedo (Sober's guitar player) recorded a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne and asked me to play in the main song of the album. The day I went to record we both got along very well and he asked me to take part in Skizoo with him and Antonio Bernardini. Skizoo was a temporary band while Sober was inactive. I accepted, but Skizoo became something more than a project, and it was really tough to be at 100% both in Skizoo and Saratoga, so i had to give up Saratoga in 2005.In the early 2006 I left Stravaganzza due to personal reasons, thus now Im fully involved in Skizoo.Dani Perez grabando "Abisal"
