hate this part. Ok, how would I describe myself? Well, loyal, quiet (until someone gives me too much to drink or asks me for my opinion), observant, intense, fun-loving, sincere, earnest. Being caught up in a biomedical research PhD program now locally, I find very little time to do a lot of stuff I want to do outside of work and teaching. Thus I generally find it very refreshing to just focus on catching up with friends throughout the course of the week, either an idle phone chat or meeting for a meal or a drink over the weekend. Having hung up my clubbing sneakers (unless there's a REALLY good guest DJ in town or a very big party and even then...), I find it interests me little these days. A quiet moment or a face to face conversation or even a house party interests me more! My passions these days (other than honing my skills in the laboratory and at answering questions launched at me by inquisitive and eager beaver undergrads), involve surfing the net to update myself on the latest biomedical developments, esp in the infectious diseases field; immersing myself totally in listening to a complete opera performance either on dvd or just on recording; checking out the latest handbag spins or good progressive records (hey, I said i gave up on clubbing, not on the music...love it for gym); hopping out for a spot at Border's or some record/dvd store to get a bargain and joining friends for a coffee or a meal. Very easy-going and very laidback (I have no choice, anything more and work pressure will kill me!!!). And a bit too cerebral sometimes... [http://www.livejournal.com/~stargate_bum]
