2001 - 2008

To everyone,
It’s been a long journey since Shot Down Sun began all the way back in November of 2001. It’s been an idea and a dream long before the band actually took shape. When the band began we were simply kids still learning their instruments, no older than 13 years old.
Throughout the years we’ve grown tremendously. We’ve had extreme highs and extreme lows, we’ve been through thick and thin. We’ve made tons of friends that we wouldn’t have made otherwise and we’ve played with hundreds of amazing bands. We love the scene around here and we’re so proud to be a part of it.
There comes a time when people’s lives change, when others have different priorities and unfortunately that time has come for us. It is sad, but it is best to leave the band on this note rather than continuing to drag it on with a different line-up.
We want to thank any and everyone who has listened to our music, come out to a show, purchased any of our merch, told their friends about us, anyone that has supported us, whether it’s been since the beginning or since last week. There is no better feeling than having something you created mean something to others. The support and love from all of you means so much to us.
We will all miss this band, but life goes on. We want to see as many people as possible at the last two shows. Please check out the blog and tell us what you want to hear. At the final Haverhill show we will be playing with line-ups past and present, and songs from all eras of the band. These are the last two times you will EVER get to see us live, so please come out, mosh, sing along, have fun and give us hugs.
From the bottom of our hearts, we love each and every single one of you. You all have made so many memories that we will never forget. Come out to the last shows and give us the two best memories we could possibly have. Thank you everyone, it’s been a fun time!
