Founded accidentally by four childhood mates from Pondok Gede, Indonesia in 2004 New Years Eve. The Porno is brought into existence, is produced, by communication-by, in short, the construction, apprehension, and utilization of childhood-relation symbolic forms. The band is neither a reflection nor a distortion of reality because either of these characterizations imply that music can record about what is out there in each member point of view. We are the neutral observers of a world out there, a world that exists apart from our knowing of it. We take position in the fields; have outlooks or point of view, choose between micro or macroscopic perspectives, look at things more closely, employ a narrow focus, or approach a problem with an open mind. We are socialized into the dominant ideology of infancy and trained in subtle and explicit ways to admire the successful and become suspicious of the abilities and integrity of the disadvantaged, even if we are disadvantages ourselves. The Porno is a practice, not a thing. For each member, the band is principles of options, emphasis, and presentation about what exists, what happens, and what matters.
