About Me

I've been living in Austin pretty much since 1985, with a brief stay in Boston in the early 90s while I attended Berklee. I grew up in Houston, and moved to Austin both to go to the University of Texas and to get into the Austin music scene. Although I graduated with a government degree, I started working in recording studios after my freshman year. I had been playing music since I was very young, and I loved being in the studio. I've done work in studios and the music business ever since.
I am currently in the studio with my friend Marc Schaefgen and producer Bruce Hughes recording under the name Weeping Buddhas. Most recently I played and toured with JJ Usher. My band Blue Millennium played Austin in the late nineties as well, enjoying several years of great gigs.
In addition to being a musician, I am a geek too. I'm involved with the Miro project, an open source video application. Miro is an amazing project, providing a unified, easy interface for net video. We have had over a million downloads, and have received great reviews and web awards. We are currently releasing co-branded players with PBS, Revision3, the TED conference and others.
In my personal life, most of my focus is on my son Dexter. He's amazing little dude, inquisitive and funny. We seem to make a good team.
Outside of that, when I have free time I enjoy scuba diving or hanging around one of the many watering holes in Austin. Love going to the Alamo Drafthouse, music festivals, and hanging at Jo's coffee.
