Years Of Life Lost

While many bands claim to tread a different path than others, Years Of Life Lost succeeds where others fail, with their blend of old-school and modern metal and classical music and film scores. "To be honest we never set out to be different, we just wanted to make music we could all be proud of" said Stix, one of the founding members of the band.
Originally called Crucible, Years Of Life began in the summer of 2003 when drummer Travis and bassist Justin began jamming together. From there, through a mutual friend, they were hooked up with a rhythm guitarist named Stix. The few times the three of them played together were magical, but something was missing. Stix then asked local guitarist Matthias Powerbomb to come fill in as lead guitarist temporarily until a permanent replacement could be found, however the four members instantly clicked and Matthias was hired on the spot at the first practice. Thus, Crucible was born. The last piece of the puzzle was to find a vocalist. After months of searching and auditioning, they found Chad, a singer with incredible range and emotion that pours from his powerful voice.
With the five pieces now in place, Crucible began playing out and winning over fans in every venue they performed, playing with great bands including The Dreaming, The Invisible Hand, Gulch, Cymbiance, Purity, Versus, Down For Five, Boomslang, Sign of One and many more. The band released their first cd "Revelations" in late 2006 with a positive response from both fans and peers alike, selling out it's first printing in less then a week.In febuary 2007 Crucible was asked to participate in the spring 2007 Project Independent Kansas Showcase. In June 2007, Matthias parted ways with the band to concentrate on his own solo project.
In February 2008, Years Of Life Lost welcomed Jett to the band, an amazing guitar player with amazing technique and a refreshing attitude. With a new lead guitar player in their corner, Years of Life Lost are set to make waves in the Wichita metal scene in 2008. Stay tuned to watch it all unfold!
