edit: due to me being an old fogey, i don't hit the bars as much for local shows and know most of these bands don't still exist. in fact... i can't even remember who some of them are.

there are really just too many films to name. i love movies.
currently in my rotation: LOST, this american life, bullshit!, rome, psych, the 4400, the sopranos, extraswatching tv always feels like effort to me. i have to move from one chair to another and that's a lot of work. these are the shows that usually can get me to do that.
i'm not going to pretend to be well read. i've read books. i'll still even read more books in my life. the books i list here are supposed to say something about me and i think it's just easier to say it. i will read trash and i will read literature. like every other category here, i venerate both.
i don't know that i really have heroes. there are people i respect and admire for their contributions to society... jack kerouac and william s. burroughs have been big influences. i also admire all great authors, humorists, film directors. i wouldn't classify any of these people as heroes, though. more, inspiration...
