I'm a poet...been writing poetry since the 6th grade. Music, for as long as I can remember, has been a large part of my life; it's not just a memory of a song, but the re-occurance of feelings that truley makes music food for MY soul. As we all do, I found my taste for music at an early age and although I listen to all types of music, I was most intrigued and drawn in by the genre of Hip-Hop...I am a characteristic of everything around me, My Country, My State, My Town, My City, etc...so therefore, I call myself an "Urban Poet"...meaning that I'm a reflection of everything that I see, hear, feel, and touch, and I allow that to seep out of my pours and radiate through the music that I do...
I take this Hip-Hop thing very seriously, and thank GOD for giving me the talent to be able to express my inner most thoughts and fears and connect with people all over the world...it's an amazing feeling. That's why I'm here on MySpace...It's all about the network and NETWORKING...
The music biz is a crazy one...that's to say the least. I've seen some of the best things it has to offer: success, fame, fortune, notoriety, fans, and respect; I've also seen the worst it has to offer: failure, doubt, fear, worry, loss of longtime friends, and loss of respect. Through it all, i'm still here, still standin', and still makin' music, for myself above all else...
I've been asked the question, "Why do you call yourself a Prophet?" so many times and this is my response... A prophet is by definition "A spokesperson of a doctrine, cause, or movement". That is what I am, and through my music, it is what I do... I am not, nor I have I ever wanted to portray or immitate a religious figure, and/or offend anyone's religion, so don't take it that way...
