Good Soldier Svejk (Foul-mouthed Music Merchants)

About Me

http://soundcloud.com Good Soldier SvejkGood Soldier Svejk formed over a bottle of Absinthe bought back from the Czech Republic, drinking a third of it before setting light to a coffee table with the rest. They stole their name from the famous satirical novel by Jaroslav Hasek, experimenting with various spellings according to how stupid they thought their reviewers might be.
They received some small but enthusiastic write-ups from the good folk at Future Music Magazine and a nice 8/10 from Radio 1 for their "Here Comes Hell In A Handbasket" demo. DJ Dave Pierce even managed to pronounce "Svejk" correctly. (Rhymes with bake).
Things went quiet for a while when Svejk main man T. Edward Devilish took some time off to write his first novel, Kingdom Of The Burning Cow, (available to buy from www.lulu.com/content/538585) but now they're back with a new track, "Smells Like The Death Of Civilisation", featuring elements of "Teen Spirit", "Groove Is In The Heart" and the narration from the British version of the Big Brother television show adjusted by genius re-editors Cassette Boy.
