PAGEANTS PAGEANTS PAGEANTS PAGEANTS Pageants taught me to look deep within myself and gave me the opportunity to really know who I am. The media loves to glorify all the silly things beauty queens say and do simply to make the public feel better about themselves. I believe the psychological profession has a personality disorder name for that. Although I was never a State, National or Universal title holder, I am so grateful to have had the support that I did from my community and get to really know me. Keanu Reeves, lime jello, Godiva Chocolate, yoga, anything having to do with Trent Reznor, great danes, the sand in between my toes and the waves crashing in front of me, old Monthy PYthon movies, Inspector Cluseau, photography, pageants, poetry, low budget 80's & 90's movies with the brat pack, silly girly drinks with umbrellas served in plastic cups, green apple flavored hard candies, baby oil, broad shoulders and dark, soft hair.
Keanu Reeves, Audrey Hepburn, Socrates, Trent Reznor, Robin Williams, John Lennon, Meg Ryan, Oprah, and I truly hope to meet my grand children.I would like to meet the person who cures cancer. I would love the world to meet my mother. Cancer already met her.And if you need to buy a home - or sell yours... I'd like to meet you. Especially if you are a woman. I've seen so many women get the short end of the stick and live in lemons just because they couldn't see past the sheet rock. I'd like to teach each of you what to look for in a home. Just as in beauty... it's all about the bones. Visit me at www.SOLDbyMyssie.com!
NIN, Sade, Jimmy Buffet, John Meyers, Third Eye Blind - but only because I think Stephan Jenkins is soooo beautiful! Sergey Rachmaninoff, almost anything mixed by Paul Oakenfold and sometimes Moby, mellow 70's like Fleetwood Mac, Steve Miller Band, the Eagles, The Stone's "You Can't Always Get What You Want", Afternoon Delight and the Pina Colada Song, funky 70's like Brick House (my theme song) and Play that Funky Music, now... when it comes to 80's WOW! Depeche Mode, Erasure, Big Audio Dynamite, Duran Duran, Prince, Bizarre Love Triangle and then the 90's came into Rave music where no one remembers the names of the band or the songs because eveything got mixed in together in the club scene. Today, I feel for everyone... we've got rap "stars" that even when monotoned are flat! or there's Brittney... poor thing.
The Notebook, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Beautiful, most Monty Pythons, The Pink Panther and low budget 80's movies like Pretty in Pink, 16 Candles, Steel Magnolias, Conan the Barbarian, Weird Science (I love the part when he says "The Chick... She can't hold her smoke"), Animal House, The Exocist parts I & III, All the Freddys and all the Jasons, and even the one with Freddy and Jason.
American Idol; 24; Grey's Anatomy; Dr. 90210; HGTV; Ugly Betty; But really it's simply all about Sex and the City... it's not the same on TBS. I love to hate Pageant Place.
I have shelves full of Leadership books. I've learned to take critiques and advice well so learning about various leadership styles is intriguing to me. Everyone has their own definition of leadership. Too many feel it is a stepping stone to POWER without understanding the ethical responsibility of it. Anything by Nostradamus, Dr. Susan Forward and Anne Rice. I like home improvement self help kinda books... although I just look at the perty pictures and never get my butt up and do the improvements!!! Does Cosmo count?
Loraina Bobbit...lol, Mom & Dad, Ronald Reagan, Berman & Berman, Oprah, Ebay, Cindy Crawford, Audrey Hepburn, Natalie Wood, Princess Grace, Princess Diana, Julie Montesdeoca, Roseanne Rosannadanna, the script writers for Saturday Night Live, Cruz (my manager), the members of VQ who give it their all on stage and in their communities, my grandmother, my two boys & my husband for saving me from me. Oh! And just below this is not me... I'm the photographer. I admire Claudine (the model below and my neice) for all that she has gone through in her life. I wish I could erase the pain...
