About Me

my most recent favorite quote: Let us not underestimate how hard it is to be compassionate. Compassion is hard because it requires the inner disposition to go with others to the place where they are weak, vulnerable, lonely and broken. But this is not our spontaneous response to suffering. What we desire most is to do away with suffering by fleeing from it or finding a quick cure for it. And so we ignore our greatest gift, which is our ability to enter into solidarity with those who suffer. Those who can sit in silecnce with their fellowman. not knowing wat to say but knowing that they should be there, can bring new life in a dying heart. Those who are not afraid to hold a hand in gratitude, to shed tears in grief and to let a sign of distress arise straight from the heart can break through paralyzing boundaries and witness the birth of a new fellowship, the fellowship of the broken.
Hi there.
Thanks for checking out my page.
I'm Natalie Semkiw. I'm an 19-year old girl from the northwest suburbs of Chicago with big dreams.
I've got that old soul in me.
I believe we can all change the world a little at a time.
If we're good, good things will become of us.
My life revolves around music. It's my number one love.
"If you actually open your eyes to view what music brings, it's phenominal. You can be surrounded by the worst and listen to one song that will make you feel like you can defeat anything. And it's not about the fame, or the success. It's about when a song comes on and you can dance your troubles away, cry your eyes out, be inspired to do things, feel things. Just listen to the words, the guitar riffs, the drums, the melody, the harmonies."
Every song I write comes from the bottom of my heart and when I get a person's reaction telling me that that song has gotten them through their day, or through a tough time it lifts my world up.
Music is one of my many reasons for existing. And it's a beautiful thing ladies and gentlemen.
I have a lot of heart, clearly. Hah.
I write what I feel, and I'll play the piano or grab the guitar when I'm down to express myself.
I'll always sell myself short.
I play the piano and I am kind of a rookie at guitar but the more I play the better my rhythm gets.
I use almost too much vibrato when I sing.
I have a lot of soul in me.
I have a lot of things to say.
Peoples reactions to my music is definetely a big deal to me.
I am going for an indie rock/acoustic feel although my voice is more R&B.
But I love the genre so I have to stick with my heart.
Keep a look out for new stuff!
