Born Joseph Ward III August 4, 1983, "Joe Cooks" was doomed to lead an inevitably troublesome childhood and encounter numerous struggles throughout his adolescent life. Left to reside with his Grandfather, Joseph Ward Senior of Emerson, Arkansas, Cooks' problematic and rebellious manner quickly serviced at an early age. Later, a short lived stay with his father would further urge Cooks towards the streets, money, and the fast-life. Following this chosen path, Cooks moved to Dallas where at 16 the hustlin' began and continues to this day. Cooks has made his presence felt across the beloved South from Georgia to Louisiana; from Arkansas to Texas. In Dallas, however, Cooks found himself on a block known for drug-trafficing and quickly became a well-known and respected name. But we all know, "Mo Money. Mo Problems." After two years of complete domination and a growing number of haters, Dallas SWAT kicked in Cooks' door where he was arrested on multiple manufacturing and distribution charges. Refusing to out any assailants, Joe Cooks spent 6 months in lockdown before being released on probation February 23, 2007. Once free, Cooks built a strong relationship with Past2Present Entertainment, founded by his Uncle and friends, all waiting to embrace the skills of this fresh young rapper's unique new sound. Joe Cooks states, "I haven't wanted to be a rapper all my life. [About 5 years] So it is a great opportunity for me and my two year old son, Kayden."
