"Dean Agus Band" is a group of well-rounded musicians hailing from central Arkansas in the hometown of Hot Springs National Park. Formerly known as "Crash Meadows", the band won several regional competitions, guest hosted on nearly every major radio station in their home market, and frequently performed on channel 7’s "Good Morning Arkansas". Having rocked out many benefits, showcases, and concerts..."Crash Meadows" had also earned the right to open for a few well-known signed acts, such as; Blues Traveler, Confederate Railroad, and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.Presently known to everyone as "Dean Agus Band", the group has performed in nearly every venue in and around their local scene. The band has taken the act on the road playing shows for various events, competitions, charities & benefits, as well as festivals, and much more. "Dean Agus Band" is well known for pleasing audiences of all ages, and performs a very wide list of music genre’s ranging from mo-town, blues favorites & classic rock hits, to today’s more modern pop/rock & alternative requested material. But much more than just capable of playing so many styles, "Dean Agus Band" has set a foot-mark on their much-respected and requested original tunes. With songwriters brothers & band-mates; Dean and Medo Agus, there just the right combination to form the chemistry it takes to write emotional driven heart-break material, as well as creative foot-stumping grooves with plenty of soul-pounding melodies to be heard from front man and lyricist Dean Agus. "Dean Agus Band" continues to impress, and quickly becoming one of the area’s hottest must-see acts around. The band’s most recent accomplishments include earning the right to be seen on the front cover of Arkansas Times Magazine in late March, by beating the odds in the 2007’s Arkansas Times Original Music Showcase Competition, which included some major talent from the local region. Several thousand music demos were sent to this popular showcase, and only 20 bands were chosen to compete a half an hour set of all original material for a crowd of many fans from everywhere, and a panel of judges who scored the performances by different categories such as crowd response, stage presence, etc. The Dean Agus Band impressed the judges enough in the semi-final round to move on as one of the final five bands remaining. Being the only band performing in the finals to not call Little Rock their home, may have played a factor in not pulling off the overall victory, however, a quite pleasing crowd from their hometown followed the band to it’s last and latest show of the evening...and the band managed to squeak within several points of second place. It was still quite an accomplishment. Another great accomplishment, within a day’s notice...In October of 2007, DAB managed to win the a 1st place trophy for the "1st Annual Magic Springs- Battle of the Bands", earning them the right to share the stage with one of 2008’s main concert Headliners...Such as either Spin Doctors or Gem Blossoms. The "Dean Agus Band" is fueled by brothers Dean Agus (acoustic guitar/lead vocals) and Medo Agus (lead guitar /vocals), accompanied by a very impressive rhythm section with Daniel Keith (bass guitar/vocals), and Hampton Taliaferro (drums/percussion/vocals).Dean Agus Band debu cd is presently released and on sale.
