some people hear their own inner voices with great clearness and they live by what they hear. such people become crazy, or they become legends.
"a motion picture, or music, or television, they have to maintain a certain decorum in order to be broadcast to a vast audience. other forms of mass media cost too much to produce to risk reaching only a limited audience. only one person. but a book...a book is cheap to print and bind. a book is as private and consensual as sex. a book takes time and effort to consume-something that gives a reader every chance to walk away. actually, so few people make the effort to read that it's difficult to call books a "mass medium." no one really gives a damn about books. no one has bothered to ban a book in decades."
why don't ya shut your goddamn mouth and play some music.
That's the beauty of music. They can't get that from you... Haven't you ever felt that way about music?
The Panopticon is a machine for disassociating the see/being seen dyad: in the peripheric ring, one is totally seen, without ever seeing; in the central tower, one sees everything without ever being seen. - Michel Foucault, 1973 from Discipline & Punish: The Birth of the Prison.
some may say...this might be your last farwell ride
I've spent the last 2 years living on the road. Constant travel, alcoholism, foul language, bad food, music, hotels, trailers...you name it. If I'm home you can usually find me somewhere walking around or drinking cheap beer. When I'm not home...who knows.
