Unleash the Guttural Vortex...

About Me

There's not a whole lot to be said about how I became a vocalist; I suppose it's a similar story to that of anyone in a DM band. I began doing Death Metal vocals about two years and a half years ago. Through listening to bands I loved, I began to get more and more interested in the idea of the growls and screams, and other styles. Little by little I got to where I am today, by just experimenting with my voice and playing around with what kind of sounds I could make. One advantage that I have over most vocalists of this generation is that I began learning how to growl, gurgle, howl, and scream before my voice really changed, which allowed it to grow around the brutal style. This means that I'm much more immune to voice damage than others. My style is quite throaty, which is what allows me to produce a vast array of sounds, ranging from the whistling sub-gurgles to the piercing gurgle-screams. I'm still discovering new sounds, too. I tend to enunciate my sentences very clearly, even at high speed. I have lots of stamina and energy, so holding a scream or gurgle for long periods of time is no problem for me. Many have said I have excellent stage presence and stance; some say I remind them of a combination between Corpsegrinder and Covan (Decapitated).Anyways, please check out the videos I have posted here! I have a couple of songs I've composed and created on my own that demonstrate how I sound in a mix, and those will be posted soon, as well. Keep it brutal! I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

Different from vids

Yeah, the style you hear in the new song is a tad different from what you've been seeing in the vocal vids; I've actually changed my singing style from a throat-generated sound to a full on diaphragm ...
