ROLLERDERBY!!!
I also donate a bit of my extra time as a graphic designer for Lee's Place , which is a non-profit grief and loss counseling center. They counsel adults and children who have experienced a potentially traumatic loss, be it a death in the family, divorce or some other loss. I work with Lee's Place college board to design adverts and whatnot for their fundraising events.
I'd like to meet:
Steven Page and Ed Robertson; Trey Parker and Matt Stone; Alanis Morissette; Eric Idle or Michael Palin or Terry Jones or Terry Gilliam or John Cleese or all of them.
Music:
hmmm......well, I LOVE Barenaked Ladies; I've seen them in concert 3 times, now.
Alanis, Crash Test Dummies, Bloodhound Gang, Tenacious D (if only they'd put out another album), Green Day, System of a Down, Tom Petty, Counting Crows, Poe.
Movies:
My favorite movies are invariably comedies (but that doesn't preclude all those non-comedies out there that kicked my ass). Any movies put out by Trey Parker and Matt Stone so far - Cannibal the Musical; Orgazmo; Baseketball; of course the full-length South Park flick, and the beautifully executed Team America: World Police. And I will probably always harbor a soft spot for Kevin Smith. I especially dig dark comedies: Shawn of the Dead, anyone? And the ridiculously comedic: all 3 Austin Powers movies (though Goldmember is my favorite). And who influenced all of these people? None other than Monty Python! And it really doesn't get any better than that, does it?
Television:
We don't have cable right now, so i watch a lot of dvds. The TV shows we have on dvd that i like to watch over and over are South Park, Monty Python's Flying Circus, the Young Ones, Ren and Stimpy, Absolutely Fabulous and the Kids in the Hall.
I'm of the opinion that reality TV is a blight on modern television and that it's a product of lazy minds.
Books:
I think the last books I've read were the Lord of the Rings - over 2 years ago! I also liked Dune.
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - I think "So Long and Thanks for All the Fish" was my favorite installment.
