About Me

Welcome to the official Seven Deadly Sins Myspace! Seven Deadly Sins is a heavy metal band located in the small town of Quincy, IL. Way back in April of 2004, Seth Fenton and Dane Tournear got together at Dane's house and jammed to some tunes known as "Blackened" by Metallica and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana. Dane mentioned to Seth another guitar-player and a bassist that happened to be brothers. Cut ahead to the first jam session in Alex's basement; Seth, Dane, and Zach James Yeakey(Alex Yeakey's dad) all hung out in the basement talking about music and interests(Alex was off with some other musicians at the time). Finally James asked Seth to play what he knew on Alex's amp, so he hooked his guitar up to Alex's amp and started playing the opening solo to Metallica's "Fade to Black". It was not long before James yelled, "STOP!" Seth had Alex's amp smoking. The next day, they all got together again in the basement(this time with Alex), and jammed out what would be the songs played at their first show: "Smells Like Teen Spirit", "Come As You Are", "For Whom the Bell Tolls", and "Fade to Black". After a few weeks of jamming, they realized that they would need a name, so the name "Seven Deadly Sins" was brought to the table. Seven Deadly Sins went on to play shows for a year when they realized that their bass-player wasn't working out, so they hired Jason Tieken. Jason was a cool guy and had a lot of energy, but after a few months they started having problems with him. Enter Justin Trammel: guitar-player and long-time friend of Seth. Justin did not have much experience as a bass-player prior to joining, but seeing the potential he had and knowing his dedication, they decided to hire him, realizing shortly afterword that Justin was what they needed all along and their bond has been stronger than ever since then.Closing Statements:Since we started in spring of '04, we have seen the rise and downfall of many great local bands and venues, but somehow we have managed to survive all the ups and downs, so maybe we have what it takes to spread our message to the world. We are here to do what we do best, and that is to kick some ass, and have some fun along the way. -Seth Fenton
