Techno, techno, and techno.
Music rules my life. Not all music; most of it sucks. Electronic music rules my life. I'm most partial to the progressive pedigree of House, and the Housey variants of Techno, but if it's Electronic (including actual Hip-Hop) generally I'll listen to it.
Naturally since my life is dictated by the music I listen to, I became a DJ (who isn't a "DJ" nowadays..?). I've been spinning records for approaching 10 years now, and during that time I've had the opportunity to jockey the decks of a few of Denver, Colorado's finest clubs. The finest of them all being Tracks 2000. Anyone old enough who calls themself a party-kid in Colorado should know Tracks 2000. If not, get learned.
I generally play what most consider 'Progressive' House, but it's not uncommon to hear me throw in an oddity or two. My favorite sets are those mid- and late-night when I can break out the harder, more techno discs and really get an energetic, bangin' vibe going.
For me, the greatest feeling in the world is an attentive, overly enthusiastic dancefloor, totally lost in my music. Better than sex. Better than sex, indeed.
I am undoubtedly the Worlds Greatest Cover Band. When I cover a song, it sounds exactly like the artist's original. [Yeah, go ahead and laugh. It's funny because I'm playing records.] Though I've made some of my own experimental forays into production, I don't yet consider myself knowledgeable enough to fully produce a professional quality release. I do have the help of some very talented producers/friends, complete with professional quality studio equipment, however, and I'm certain my time will come soon.
Real music industry work aside, for the time being, I still firmly believe in the time-honored right to gettin' crazy and loosing ones' self in music and dance. Many may try, but no one will ever take this away from me. Don't ever let anyone take it from you, either.
Get yourself a Jstn Ryan T-shirt! ...Yes, I'm actually on my own t-shirt... well, my likeness is anyway. "DJ Spinning" T-shirt design available from Boy Drama .
These were originally made for a small Denver production company, and included the text of the company name below the picture. I think I'm one of only a very small group who has a print of the original, but who cares? Get one of the new ones; wear me!
Electronic, House, Progressive, Techno, and somtimes (when the appropriate chemicals are involved) Trance.

TVs are only good for displaying trippy visuals.
Rave America, Last Night A DJ Saved My Life, In Search Of The Perfect Mix... and of course all of the Mr. Men children's books (I don't know where I'd be without you Mr. Messy, Mr. Tickle, and of course, Mr. Happy).
Myself (of course), DJ Squeet (for always being dumb with me), Ty Tek (someday, I shall have his baby), the Tracks 2000/Tracks Denver employees past and present (yeah, oh yeah...).
And of course DJ Nite-Mer because somehow, he's takin' over all of Denver's club scene!
