After the death of Reid Tommy found himself working with various R&B acts and ghost writing for local rap acts in Miami and Atlanta Georgia. Tommy worked with Slip n Slide artist J-shin while producing with Rudolph Reid. Tommy at the time attended Miami Carol City, a school which has given the world notable big name stars such as Washington Redskins wide receiver Santana Moss and rap star Flo rida to name a few. Living in Carol City Tommy was definitely a product of his environment. “I watched a lot of my friends die before graduating High school, dudes that I use to hustle and get money with. At that point I realized that I had to do more than just hustle and start putting my talents to use. I left the street life alone and focused on making it in the business. I remember girl R&B groups paying me to write them songs and dudes paying me to write there rhymes for talent shows, money like that I didn’t have to watch my back if the cops were coming or somebody trying to rob me”. Currently trying to break into the main stream Tommy is currently booking shows, promoting and protesting for air play on local Miami radio stations such as Power 96 and 99 jamz. Tommy like Lex Luger is definitely the total package. Charisma, versatility and style are just the tip of the ice burg when a conversation about Tommy is being held. A smart business man, Tommy has always believed that hard work and determination would persevere over negativity and closed doors would soon open once he knocked on the right one. “My music is me, my music is a three dimensional view of the hood and the originality that makes Miami the hottest place to be”. Tommy use’s the phrase “put me in coach” not to say he’s playing the bench, but only to say that it’s time for a change.Tommy has been hard at work selling 27,550 mix tapes in conjunction with local bootleggers in the hood in the past year and a half. “I found a way to connect with the young dudes selling bootleg mix tapes in the hood and split the profits that came from catz staying up all night in house burning cd’s and constantly putting money back in to the project to support our small but effective street team”. He’s been in the studio night and day recording new music in preparation for an explosive 2007. Tommy is an acronym for Today’s Only My Memories a Yesterday. In his latest project he paints a picture of were he’s been and were he plans to be in the future. Tommy has been working on a southern heat rock tentatively titled “The Point Of No Return” an album that has a touch of rock, reggae and hip hop a reflection of the melting pot called Miami. Tommy being a artist with a dominant “New York” flow show’s the world that he is a child of the south with a 13 track master peace including the song “Remember” which pays homage to all the Mc’s that paved the way for him to take part in the culture we call hip hop.
