About Me

.. thus ends the css section !I'm a mass of contradictions: an artistic rationalist, a down-to-earth ecscapist, a free-thinking conformist, a Christian agnostic, a foul mouthed prude... the list goes on and on.
Which Discworld character are you?
Rincewind-You are a wizard but like to spell it like "wizzard". Somehow, everything bad seems to happen to you and no one else. You are a born pessimist and refuse to hope for the best. You are not good at anything else than surviving. Somehow you became Twoflowers fiend. How did that happen?

My Interests

Philosophy, animation, penguin conspiracy theories, video games, smart children's fiction, cartoons, tea, nurbs paramatration, manga, the Inklings, UV mapping, anime, and a bunch of other stuff. Did I mention that I'm interested in animation?

I'd like to meet:

A magic beetle that would endow me with amazing powers like the ability to grow hair and sound exactly like a trombone ensamble when I snore and pilot a giant mecha against the forces of unpleasant odors and evil and stuff in exchange for my fingernail clippings. ...Yea, that would be awesome.

You are all the dragon gods combined. You are the embodyment of evil and doom for the human race unless Serge and the good guys can stop you!!!

Music:

Just about anything. As a musician, I'm heavily influenced by the likes of the Foo Fighters, Switchfoot, Train, and Newfound Glory among others and not particularly in that order, but what I play and what I listen to are two different things entirely. My favorite band is Sixpence None the Richer, and I've been listening to a lot of J-Pop lately, as well as Punjabi and what is refered to as "New Age" music. Despite what it implies about my social aptitude, I also listen to a lot of game and anime soundtracks. Yasunori Mitsuda and Yoko Kanno are in a league of their own as far as I'm concerned.

Movies:

My first love was Star Wars, but I eventually had to concede that the Lord of the Rings trillogy was better. As I get involved in animation, I find myself moving away from American cinema more and more, with the exception of Pixar films. It seems that whenever a really amazing animation director does pop up in the States, (or Europe, or Japan, or anywhere, come to think of it,) they eventually end up somehow associated with Pixar. Hayao Miyazaki, (who's films are exclusively distributed in the US by none other than Pixar,) is my favorate living film maker.

You are a Kodama! A strange little alien, bobble-head creature, you watch over the forest. Your only means of communication is by shaking your head, which seems full of rocks or marbles...

Television:

Anime! Escaflowne, Last Exile, Love Hina, .hack//sign, ROD, Chobits, etc. I will admit to indulging in the Simpsons, or Adult Swim when I have the oportunity, but for the most part, Japan is where it's at.

Books:

Anything written by CS Lewis, JRR Tolkien, or George MacDonald, Sophie's World, Harry Potter, A Wrinkle in Time, Discworld novels, Nausicaa, and the rest of the good ones.

Heroes:

First and foremost, of course, is Jesus... There never has and never will be a greater act of heroism than what He did for us. After that, my list gets kinda random. There's Elichai Fowler, CS Lewis, Hayao Miyazaki, Matt Slocum, Yoko Kanno, Brad Bird, Range Murata, JRR Tolkien, George MacDonald, Mom, Noboteru Yuki, Jostien Gaarder, Renee DesCartes, Yasunori Mitsuda, John Lasseter, Chuck Jones, Socrates, Linus Torvalds, Friz Freling, and a whole bunch of other deserving people that I've forgotten to mention.

Please don't kill me for this... (Cheerios.)

I'm no mathematician.  I use math a lot more than most people I know, but I use it in a "press enter and watch it go" capacity.  If you asked me to describe to you in explicit formulaic term...

Love doesn't conquer evil.

I watch cartoons.  A lot.  More specifically, I watch Japanese cartoons referred to as anime.  I'd like to say that my afinity is due to the lush art and music or the intelectual stimul...
