Webster “El Nene Bomba”On May 16, 1988, in the city of La Vega, Dominican Republic an upcoming star was born.Webster Batista son of Jose Batista and Yoselin Baez, was born on May 16, 1988, in a small town called La Vega in the Dominican Republic. La Vega was a small farming town, a town full of desperation.Webster Batista grew up in the mean streets of D.R. By the age of 10, Webster was forced to go out in the work force to survive the hunger of normal everyday life. He found himself working at a bakery company, doing retail and as a mechanic.At age 13, Webster was passing through a time when most young adults find themselves being influenced by drugs, gangs and other temptations. Raised by grandma, Webster became a uncontrollable teenager. One day he found himself in a crossroad and decided to change his life, this decision turn his life around positively. One of the past times that helped him get out of the negative world was sports, in particular Baseball, he got so involved with baseball he almost went national.Having a father who was recognized as one of the top on-air jocks of Super K radio, Webster got an opportunity to perform at a local D.R festival called Talento De La Voz, his first taste of his hidden talent. Webster won 3rd place out of 20 contestants, allowing him to win the hearts of the locals and also the baptism of his artist name Webster “EL NENE BOMBA”.The talent show win, gave Webster an opportunity to record a song demo. Webster found his first love “MUSIC”. From that day forward, Webster knew that music was his life passion, this gave him a chance to express himself to the world. He also found himself being influenced by artist like NSYNC, Michael Jackson, Puff Daddy (a.k.a PDiddy) and Los Temerarios from Mexico City.His dream finally came true by 2003, at age 15. Webster “El Nene Bomba” was reunited with his mother in Phoenix, Arizona. He was very appreciative due to the opportunities that this country gave. This gave him a chance to pursue his education and his music career.In 2005 Webster and Chez Zabala “El Matatan” formed a group called N-V. By 2006 Webster decided to go as a solo artist and was able to connect with one of Arizona’s hottest producers and re-mixers Joe Zazueta and Melvin Johnson from ZAYA STUDIOS L.L.C/THIRD EYE PRODUCTIONS. From that day forward they developed one of the hottest sounds in the Valley of the Sun based out of the Latin Urban Industry.In 2006, Webster came out with his first solo single “Hueso” or “Bone”, the first radio station that played on rotation “Hueso” was 95.1 FM Latino Vibe in Phoenix Arizona, with the full support of the Programming Director Josh Villa and Promotions Director Fernando GomezWebster “El NENE BOMBA”s goal is to change the face of reggaeton, by adding a pop and multicultural sound. Raul Ramos was an inspiring musician in the barrio Duque de Naguabo, Puerto Rico when he met the beautiful Iris Ramos from the barrio Quebradaseca Ceiba, Puerto Rico also an inspiring singer. It was love at first sight. They both decided to come to the United States to give a better life to there children. In 1979, the Ramos family moved from Puerto Rico to New Jersey to search for the American Dream. Unfortunately, New Jersey was a struggle so they migrated to Phoenix, Arizona. By 1982 Iris Ramos gave birth to there youngest child Sara Iris Ramos.Sya was born in an environment mixed of Latin sounds and American influences, artist like Tito Puente, Oscar De Leon, Celia Cruz, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Boyz to Men and Gospel.At the age of 5 Sya was singing in Church kids choir songs like, “This little light of mine to Jesus loves me”. Her first performance was at church singing a duet with her sister. In 6th grade Sya took choir at Simpson Elementary instructed by Ms. Burgamy. By age 9, Sya got her first solo in 4th grade music class singing “The Ten Little Indians” in Hawaiian dialect, from that day on she always new she had a passion for singing.With all the personal struggles in Sya’s life, she realized that her only escaped was music. Music allowed Sya to express her feelings, which was her therapy. She would listen to Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey and sometimes rewriting the words to the songs. From the hooks to the melodies Sya learned the songs that would influence her life and use them as a musical learning tool. Sya also took a serious look into technical dancing and Musical Theatre in High School. By the age of 13 Sya was singing, dancing and acting on stage.Sya was acting and singing shows like Hello Dolly, A Funny Thing Happen ……, Fame and many more. With technical training in choir, dance and acting, Sya was developing a triple threat. Sya decided to invest in her professional dance training by joining Studio One Performing Arts Center instructed and owned by one of the top dance instructors in Phoenix Arizona, Melissa Cessarano. Melissa took an interest in Sya by managing her as a dancer.By age 18, Sya’s big break came. She was offered a job to work at Santa Ana Star Casino located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Sya became a back-up dancer and singer for Madonna, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson and Gloria Estefan impersonators. She was compensated well and was offered to be a Janet Jackson impersonator. Unfortunately, because of personal reasons Sya was not able to pursue a future with Santa Ana Star Casino, but was able take the experience and used it to her advantage.In 2003, Sya became part of Gravity Dance and Theatre Company, performing at events like Top Gun (USO), Romeo and Juliet, Wuthering Heights and many more. She was also part of Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre’s musical West Side Story. She was offered to perform a lead role in the Little Shop of Horror and Gilligan’s Island. At the same Sara adopted her artistic name Sya the Puerto Rican Phoenician.From that year forward Sya was not only getting opportunities in the Theatrical world but also in the music world. She was able to collaborate with artist like Pupa-T from This Real Records, DL from Triplebeam Entertainment, Lashy from Fuego Lento Records, and Webster “El Nene Bomba”. Spinning everything from Reggaeton, to Hip Hop, to Cumbias, to Merenguenge, and even Duranguense. In 2004 DJ Lunatic released his 1st mixtape, The Latino Mixtape. Three months later he released, The Latino Mixtape II. After taking some time off, he released his 3rd mixtape in 2007, The Reggaeton Takeover.
