I´ve been doing this for a long time now: writing songs and singing them. My band Jenny Willén Kvartett became a ten year old project (1994-2005), with lyrics in Swedish and a traditional Scandinavian way of singing, also with influences of jazz and blues. The band made two records, produced by Pär Edwardson (Zebra Art Records/Naxos) Påtår (=Another cup of coffee) (2001) and Nu börjar det roliga (=Now the fun begins) (2004) Visit www.jennywillen.com.
Time moves quickly, my heart beats: slow, is my current project where I work with new pop (?) songs. The band is string quartet Dendrokvartetten, Gustaf Karlöf; piano and choir, Mats Eriksson; guitar, and Thommy Larsson; drums. The premiere gig in June was much appreciated by the audience, or so it seemed. Listen to some of the songs here!
“The rest of my days†(1) was recorded by Fredrik Lidin att Apparat studios. It is the fine ensemble Gothenburg Chamber Soloists playing with me. The arrangement was done by Tormod Tvete Vik. If you come to like the music, please help me send it flying around the world!
Best Regards
Jenny Willén
